Candace Leigh Saxon Millwood Roberts, Daniel A. Dillon, M.D., Lonnie Wilkinson, Delmas Campbell, Gayle Eades, Vincent Spano, Justin Monroe, Bobby Collins, Jerry Mackey

Jerry Mackey

Jerry Robert Mackey of Williamston, 86, husband of the late Tecora Tollison Mackey, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late, Robert Ransom and Cleo Clark Mackey. A U.S. Navy veteran, he retired from BASF, and was a Baptist.

He is survived by daughters, Paula Vinson, Lisa Carter, and Deborah Hatcher; sister, Jane Garrison; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 30, at 11:00 a.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastview Baptist Church, 120 Eastview Road, Pelzer, SC 29669.

   Due to Covid-19, it is suggested that masks be worn, and social distancing observed.

Bobby Collins

Bobby Lynn Collins of Greenville, Jr., 53, husband of Cecile Decker Collins, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of Bobby Lynn Collins, Sr. and Judy Gilliam Collins of Honea Path. A self-employed machinist, he was a member of Washington Baptist Church in Pelzer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Elsie Collins of Honea Path, Colt Collins of Honea Path, and Sarah Collins of Jesup, GA; brother, Jamie Collins of Belton; one grandchild.

Visitation was held December 23 at Gray Mortuary, with the memorial service following in the mortuary chapel.

Justin Monroe

Justin Dwayne Monroe of Piedmont, 32, husband of Leah Ann Dockery Monroe, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021.

   Born in Greenville, he was the son of Dwayne Albert and Kimberly Michelle Smith Monroe of Piedmont.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by sons, Justin Blake Monroe and Braeden Eric Monroe of the home, and Trevor Daniel Monroe of Lockport, NY; and daughter, Kennedy Marilyn Monroe of Easley.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 30, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Pelzer Church of God. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church.

Vincent Spano

Vincent Eugene Spano of Belton, 78, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021.

 Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Salvatore “Sam” Spano and Mary Marie Saverise. A former volunteer fireman in Morris Plains, NJ, he retired in construction. He was a Catholic and a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by son, Ted Spano of Belton; daughter, Stella Els of Pendleton; brother, Sal Spano of Palm Beach, FL; and two grandchildren.

A cryptside service was held December 22 at Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Gayle Eades

Gayle Dean Eades of Greenville, 80, wife of the late Reginald John Eades, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021.

Born Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Walter Henry and Cornelia Bruce Dean. She was a homemaker and a Wesleyan.

She is survived by sons, Billy W. Seigler of Williamston and James E. Seigler of Honea Path; sisters, JoAnn Shaw, Wanda Lecroy, and Judy Brock; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A cryptside service will be held Wednesday, December 29, at 3:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will greet friends following the service.

Delmas Campbell

Melvin Delmas Campbell of Pelzer, 66, husband of Wendy Marie Landers Campbell, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of Joseph Melvin and Sylvia Jacquelyn “Jackie” Page Campbell of Pelzer. He was employed with Cushman Mill and a member of Washington Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Michael Del Campbell of Williamston; brother Joseph Furman Campbell of Boiling Springs; grandchild, Cody Campbell of Williamston.

Those who would like to pay their respects could do so Tuesday, December 28 and from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 29.

A private graveside service will be held.

Lonnie Wilkinson

Lonnie Kelley Wilkinson of Pelzer, 79, husband of Sheila Dill Wilkinson, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021.  

Born in Thompson, GA, he was a son of the late Johnny and Clara Wilkinson. He retired from Baltz Construction in Mauldin and was a member of Washington Baptist Church, Pelzer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Mattie Wilkinson Hopkins of Greenville and Kelley Wilkinson Skelton of Greer; stepsons, Rylan Johnson of Greer and Dillon Johnson of Greer; seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Oscar Wilkinson of Thompson, GA; sister, Christine Wilkinson Summerville of Harlem, GA; brother Danny Dill of Duncan.

The family received friends December 27, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with the funeral service following in the mortuary chapel.

Burial was at Graceland West Cemetery, Greenville.

Daniel A. Dillon, M.D.

Dr. Daniel “Doc” Adam Dillon of Piedmont, 42, husband of Alexis Davis Dillon, passed away Monday, December 13, 2021.

Born in Akron, OH, he was the son of Vincent Robert Dillon of Piedmont and Laura Jane Dillon of Anderson. He was a physician at Bon Secours AFC Urgent Care and a U.S. Air Force Reserves veteran.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by daughters, Johanna Jane Dillon and Mary Olivia “Livie” Dillon; sister, Jackie Dillon of Anderson; father-in-law, Don W. Davis of Piedmont; mother-in-law, Paula Panagakos Davis of Piedmont.

 The family received friends December 20, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

   The funeral service was held December 21, in the mortuary chapel.  Entombment followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Candace Leigh Saxon Millwood Roberts 

Candace Leigh Saxon Millwood Roberts of Belton, wife of Michael Chad Roberts, went home to be with her Savior December 14, 2021. Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of Leland A. (Sonny) Saxon, Jr. (Sheryl) and Vicki C. Simpson (Steve).  She was employed at Liftex USA in Piedmont. 

She is also survived by her daughters Michelle Millwood and Tori Dockery, Candice Foster, Samantha and Brittany Roberts.  Siblings include: April Saxon Gilliland, Jodi Saxon Wills (Wes), Kelli Saxon Scott (Corey) and David Ramsey (Terri).

Her nieces and nephews include: Chris Gilliland (Harley), Casie Hawkins (Kenny), DJ Gilliland (Sara), Ashley George, Mike and Tyler Scott, Kaylee Saxon, Kendall Wills and lots of great nieces and nephews.

Grandchildren include: Chase and Myleigh Dockery, Chloe and Cash Watson, Adilynn and Owen Foster and Katie Roberts.  Candi loved her grandchildren to the moon and back.

She was predeceased in death by: Grandparents Bill and Betty Chapman, Rudy and Daisy Fennell, Leland Aubrey Saxon Sr., Great Grandmother Lona Johnson, “Granny Peggy” Garner and Stepdaughter Jessica Roberts.

Visitation was held at Open Door Community Church, 102 Murphy Rd., Belton SC., December 18, 2021 from 11-12:30 with Memorial Service following.  The family is at the home of her mother, Vicki Simpson.
