SCDHEC Update – Feb 9, 2020

Editors Note: For the first time since the first case of COVID-19 was reported in SC March 6, 2020, The Journal has not posted daily/weekly case numbers and other DHEC information about the virus over the last week. Since last week we have checked the page daily and today (Wednesday, Feb. 9) discovered that DHEC had moved the link from the top of the Coronavirus Page on their website to a link on the lower right corner. It is now under 12 different downloads and links.

After recently reaching a peak, COVID-19 case numbers continue on a steady decline throughout the state. For the previous week, SCDHEC reported the following information:
Feb 9 – (for Feb 7) DHEC reported 1,713 new cases of COVID-19 and 1,392 probable cases. There were 17 deaths and 15 probable deaths related to COVID reported. There were 10,093 molecular test results reported with a positivity rate of 30.4 percent.
Anderson County reported 53 new cases and 25 probable cases.
Greenville County reported 171 new cases and 63 probable cases. Greenville County had 2 deaths and 2 probable deaths related to COVID.
Feb. 8 – Anderson County reported 60 new cases, 18 probable cases, 7 deaths and 2 probable deaths related to COVID.
Greenville County reported 174 new cases, 34 probable cases, 12 deaths and 2 probable deaths related to COVID.
Feb. 7 – Anderson County reported 107 new cases and 38 probable cases.
Greenville County reported 249 new cases and 56 probable cases. (There was no death report available).
Feb. 6 – Anderson County reported 161 new cases and 45 probable cases.
Greenville Clounty reported 368 new cases and 74 probable cases. (No death report available)
Feb. 5 – Anderson County reported 155 new cases and 24 probable cases.
Greenville County reported 460 new cases and 87 probable cases. (No death report available)
Feb 4 – Anderson County reported 203 new cases and 22 probable cases.
Greenville County reported 428 new cases and 108 probable cases.
