Williamston Police Officers investigated the following incidents:
Jan. 8 – Ashley Nicole George, 27, 219 Sweetgum Circle, Williamston reported a passenger window broken on her vehicle while parked at a vacant lot at Major Road and North Hamilton. A purse and contents were taken from the vehicle.
Jan. 6 – An arrest warrant was issued for Amanda Dianne Ramar for use of vehicle without permission for temporary use after Vicki Mariee Greer, 65, 221 Prince St. reported a burgundy 1993 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck stolen from the residence. The vehicle, valued at $1,200, was recovered at Fast Fuel, 207 W. Main Street in Williamston. Officer J. D. West investigated.
Jan. 18 – Hayden Lane Roberson, 27, 19 Edgewood Dr. was arrested for assault and failure to accompany (resisting arrest) after officers were dispatched to 19 Edgewood Dr. in reference to an altercation. According to reports, Roberson pushed his mother and threatened to destroy her vehicles and burn her with a torch. Officers observed Roberson with a handheld butane torch and then resisted arrest. He was transported to ACDC without further incident. Lt. L. B. Culbertson investigated.
Jan. 19 – Marvin Alanzo Chapman, 107 Flanagan Rd., Piedmont was arrested for liquor law violation, drunkenness and littering after being observed leaving a residence on foot carrying a beer and an open box of Ice House beer and then walking in the middle of East Carolina St. Reports state he threw the Ice House bottle onto a piece of property at the corner of E. Carolina and Jehue St. When approached he began to curse the officer. He was arrested and transported to ACDC. Lt. L. B. Culbertson investigated.
Jan. 20 – Michael Eugene Lowry, 55, 140 Lamar Mitchell Rd, Belton reported a Samsung A11 cell phone valued at $500 taken from a computer desk at work at 409 Gossett Dr. M. B. Jackson investigated.
Jan. 22 – Davey Alan Morris, 28, 141 Tollison Rd., Pelzer and Steven Anthony Devita, 30, 804 Greenville Dr., Williamston were arrested after a silver Honda Civic was observed on Anderson Drive making an abrupt turn into Hillcrest Baptist Church at a high rate of speed and without using a turn signal. According to reports, a female occupant in the vehicle came running toward officers highly upset and in a panic saying officers had stopped the wrong vehicle. She stated that an unidentified male in a gold 1993 Ford F250 had pointed a firearm at her friend while at Town and Country bar. The suspect vehicle was located at Fast Fuel, 507 W. Main Street. Officers approached with weapons drawn at low ready and gave verbal commands to the driver (Devita) and passenger (Morris). A gray and black Ruger 9MM handgun was located in Morris’ rear right pants pocket. According to reports, neither suspect responded to questions by officers. Devita was arrested for public disorderlhy conduct and Morris was charged with unlawful carry of a handgun. Both were transported to ACDC. J. West investigated.
Jan. 23 – Cherie Roberson, 56, 19 Edgewood Dr., Williamston reported items valued at $2,100 taken from an open air carport. Items included Stihl 16 inch chainsaw $450, gas weed eater $400, gas hedge trimmer $400. small back pack blower $350 and large back pack blower $500. Lt. L. B. Culbertson investigated.
