Tom Trammell, Carl Gambrell, Kathy Franklin

Kathy Franklin

Kathy Ledford Franklin of Piedmont, 65, wife of Robert Lynn Franklin, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022.

She was married previously to the late Roger Dale Ledford.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Sarah Emma Williams Garrett. she was a homemaker and a member of Tabernacle of Faith in Piedmont.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Frankie Prince of Greenville, Robert Franklin, II of Gray Court, Charity Phillips of San Antonio, TX, Koley Ledford of Simpsonville, and Thomas Franklin of Piedmont; sisters, Evelyn Nesbitt of Porterdale, GA, Linda Weisner of Pelzer, Shirley Knight of Honea Path, Barbara Morgan of Piedmont, Jean Moulder of Ninety Six, Vickie Wardlaw of Piedmont; fourteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was held Thursday, March 10 at Tabernacle of Faith in Piedmont, with a memorial service following.

Carl Gambrell

 Carl Jewel Gambrell, 91 of Piedmont, husband of the late Geraldine Alverson Gambrell, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

   Born in Honea Path, he was a son of the late Marshall R. and Addie Ethel Merritt Gambrell. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Wrenn Brothers Handling and was a member of Truth Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughter, Carol Riley of the home; four grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; and seventeen great-great-grandchildren.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

   A graveside service was held, March 14 at Forest Law Memorial Park.

Tom Trammell

Piedmont – Guy Thomas “Tom” Trammell, 96, husband of the late Helen Louise Teague Trammell, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Erby and Maude Scott Trammell. A WWII veteran, Mr. Trammell served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific within the 6th Marine Division. He retired from J.P. Stevens Estes Plant and was a member of Pelzer Church of God.

 Survivors include son-in-law, Dewey Collins of Greenville; and grandsons, David Collins and Paul Thomas “Tommy” Collins, both of Piedmont.

His second wife was the late Annette Peterson Trammell and is survived by her daughter, Cheri Peterson Schock of Glendale, AZ; and son, Dennis Peterson of Anderson.

He was predeceased by daughter, Cheryl Mildred Trammell Collins; and siblings, Edward, George, Bobbie, and Doris Trammell, and Hazel Jones.

   A graveside service was held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 12, at Greenville Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Johnny Hodges to officiate.

   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Anderson County Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 285, Anderson, SC 29622.
