Tommy Stillwell

Thomas Lee “Tommy” Stillwell of Belton Sr., 88, husband of the late Mary Ann Hovis Stillwell, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022.

He was twice married, first to the late Shirley Ann Wilson Stillwell.

Born in Davidson, NC, he was a son of the late Hollan Stillwell and Susie Barkley Stillwell Ogden. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a retired truck driver, and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Huntersville, NC.

Survivors include sons, James H. Stillwell of Belton and Thomas Lee Stillwell, Jr. of Piedmont; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 4, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Gray Mortuary,  Pelzer.

An additional visitation will be held Thursday, May 5, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church (Huntersville, NC). The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m., with burial in the church cemetery.

Sherry Mullikin

Sherry Medina Rackley Mullikin of Williamston, 67, wife of Donald Rhett Mullikin, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at her home.

Born in Walhalla, she was a daughter of the late Jeff Tollison and Willie Mae Wooten.  She retired from the Greenville Hospital System.

 In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Brad McCurry of Walhalla and Charles Owens of Leakesville, MS; brothers, Jeff and Tim Tollison, both of Walhalla; sister, Belinda McCall of Anderson; and four grandchildren.

 A graveside service was held April 30 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

Ann Cowling

Ann Wells Cowling of Piedmont, 83, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

Born in Hampton, VA, she was a daughter of the late Harvey John and Aralease Munford Cowling. 

Survivors include daughters, Cindy Hawkins of Belton and Vicky Chapman of Pelzer; son, Emery Hawkins, II of Piedmont; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 6, in the chapel of Gray Mortuary. The family will greet friends following the service.

Grace Sanders Elgin

Grace Carolyn Coker Sanders Elgin of Pelzer, 88, widow of Hunter Elgin, passed away Monday, May 2, 2022.

   She was twice married, first to the late Wallace Sanders. 

   Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late James Charles and Bertha Kelly Coker. She retired from Rockwell Automation of Greenville. 

   Survivors include sons, Buddy Sanders of the home, and Jimmy Sanders of Anderson; two grandchildren, and  four great-grandchildren. 

    A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Long Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with visitation following at the grave.

Seth Smith

Seth Allen Smith of Piedmont, 17, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022.

He was born in Greenville on April 7, 2005. He was a Junior at Woodmont High School and a student at Furman University through the Bridges to a Brighter Future Program.

He is survived by his mother, Tina Marie Foust of Piedmont; grandparents, Larry and Deborah Austin of the home; great-aunt and great-uncle, Rev. David and Pat West of Athens, TN, who helped raise him and his twin brother, Sean Smith of the home; brother, Dustin Foust of the home.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 7, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Washington Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 11:30 a.m., with Rev. David West and Rev. Stan Candler officiating. Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
