A new event is coming to Williamston. The 1st Annual Skylaticspromo Indie Music Festival will be held Saturday, July 9 in Williamston’s Mineral Spring Park.
Organizer Stephen Greer said the event will bring together the “hottest and buzzworthy” Independent artists, ranging from rock, r&b, jazz, country and hiphop and will include motivational speakers and more.
“What we’re doing by organizing this eclectic bunch of Indie artists is shining light on artists that may or may not have performed in front of a festival crowd as well as putting to rest that stigma that Williamston will never be more than a small, not-so-up-to-date town that you go all the way around when coming to Anderson County,” Greer said. “This festival is here to rival the Spring Water Festival as well as create a new dynamic in 2022 going forward for ‘ole Williamston.”
More than fifty artists will be performing on the park’s two stages.
In addition to highlighting Indie artists, the festival event will have ten food trucks, including a salad truck, as well as more than thirty small business vendors in Mineral Spring Park.
Also performing will be the Palmetto High School Twirlers dance group and Palmetto High Band.
There will be guest speakers, a bouncy house for kids and a corn hole tournament. Commemorative Tshirts will also be for sale.
Parking and admission to the festival is free.
Greer said the festival has required lots of planning and he has been asked by neighboing mayors to do the same type event for their town. He said it is about “Giving back to the community.”
The Skylaticespromo Indie Music Festival is still accepting artists, vendors, food trucks and sponsorships.
