41st Annual Spring Water Festival This Weekend!

The Town of Williamston will come alive this weekend with the sights and sounds of the 41st Annual Spring Water Festival being held in Williamston’s historic Mineral Spring Park.
This is the sixteenth year for the current organizing committee, the Williamston Springwater Committee.

There will be more than 35 craft vendors selling a variety of handmade and unique items. Ten food vendors will offer a variety of food. Take a few minutes to fill out a survey with Envision Williamston and you could win at 35 inch color TV.

Bob Seymore of Atlanta will bring the fantastic world of STATUARY back to Williamston depicting the town’s founder, West Allen Williams. Seymore will also have a story board with history about the town.

A Beach and Blues concert on Friday evening from 6 pm to 10 pm will feature Blue Sky Blues Band and the Carolina Coast Band. Amusement rides, craft vendors and food vendors will also be operating. ABC Amusements will be selling wrist bands for $20 for unlimited rides from 6-10 pm on Friday. Tickets on Saturday will be $1 each for rides from requiring 1 to 5 tickets.

On Saturday the day will begin with the 5K Spring Water Run at 7:30 am. Runners can register on day of race beginning at 6:30 am. Registration is $35 with limited supply of run shirts and will be held in the parking lot next to McDonalds.

Festival activities will officially kick off at 9 a.m. with an antique and classic auto show, informative displays, live entertainment, children’s activities, amusement rides, historic displays, craft demonstrations, handmade crafts, festival food favorites and musical entertainment.

A special opening ceremony will be held at Park’s Center (Gospel) Stage on Saturday at 9:15 a.m.

New this year will be will be axe throwing. Blade and Bull Mobile Axe Throwing will bring a 25 feet long, 8 feet wide trailer for willing participants looking for an exciting activity.

Thomas Addison will display drawings and an oil painting of his interpretation of a “Williamston Naiad”, a water nymph or fairy said to inhabit a river, spring, or waterfall. There will be a fun activity for kids to look for “Naiad fairies” in the park on festival day.

Unfortunately, at the last minute, the 501st Legion, an international costuming organization celebrating STAR WARS™, cancelled their appearance at the festival.
Bring a lawn chair and enjoy a day of live music.

The Amphitheater Stage will feature country and bluegrass beginning at 9 a.m. with Kendall Lanford, followed by Crawford-Colt at 11 a.m., Angela Easterling and the Beguilers at 1 p.m., and headliner Kristi Stanley at 3 p.m.

Gospel Stage entertainment will feature The Maples, New Beginnings, Living Truth, All for Him, Jennifer Phillips, Catlin Tierce, Trevor Thomas, New Day, Talya Starrett, Singing Tornadoes, The Other Side and Revealed.

The Spring Water Festival Car Show will feature more than 100 vehicles. There will also be rides on the restored 1936 fire truck.

Parking and admission is free.
