Terry Gilbert, Linda Tompkins, Iris Givens, Robert Tesnear, Linda Lollis

Linda Lollis

Linda Mozelle Harper Lollis of Daniel Island, 82, wife of Colonel Thomas E. Lollis, USAF-Retired, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022.  

Born in Williamston, she was a daughter of the late George Herbert and Mozelle Crolley Harper. She and her husband were graduates of Palmetto High School. Linda proudly served as an Air Force wife for 28-and-a-half-years. They recently lived in Charleston, where they served as Elders at Seacoast Church. She also served as a volunteer for the Red Cross and was a very proud grandmother and great-grandmother.

 In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter, Tamara Cope; sons, Tommy and Tracy Lollis; daughters-in-love, Lee-Ann and Kathy Lollis; sister, Sara Jo Bargoil and brother, Eddie Harper; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren – with two more on the way.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 29, at 2:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary, with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, in Anderson.

Memorials may be made to Carolina Poodle Rescue (the source of their loyal family dog, a rescue named Sammy) at 6705 Union Highway, Pacolet, SC 29372.

Robert Tesnear

Piedmont – Robert “Bob” William Tesnear, 85, husband of the late Sara Nell Lewis Tesnear, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at his home.

Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late Frank and Lura Brown Tesnear. He retired from The Golden Razor in Greenville and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include children, Rebecca Lynn Bearden of the home, Donald Tesnear (Amy) of Williamston, and William Tesnear (Dorothy) of Piedmont; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

 He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

A memorial service was held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 24, at Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.

Iris Givens

Iris Marie Rogers Givens of Pelzer, 90, widow of Joe Frank Givens, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022, at her home.

Born in Watsonville, CA, she was a daughter of the late Bob and Mary Ellen Pickett Rogers. 

She is survived by her children, Marsha Slayton of Belton, Joe Dean Givens of Belton, Gary and Tommy Givens, both of the home, Tina Pruner of Simpsonville, Jack Givens of Travelers Rest; sister, Gayle of CA; and numerous grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 31, at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Marsha, Cheryl, Tina, Barbara, and Candace Bentley for the love and care shown to Iris during her sickness.

Linda Tompkins

Linda Dale McCuen Tompkins of Pelzer, 72, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022, at her home.

Born on December 11, 1949 in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Ramsey and Annie Bell Davis McCuen. She was married 

She was employed at the J.P. Stevens Estes Plant of Piedmont, Riverside Nursing Center, Gerber Mills and retired as a greeter at Chick-fil-A. 

 She is survived by children, Stacy Darby of Pelzer, Shannon Tompkins of Pelzer, and B.J. Tompkins of Williamston; sisters, Mary Hudson of Anderson and Sherron Brooks of White Plains; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation was, October 23, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. A graveside service followed at Pine Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Mark Spearman officiating.

The family will be at the home in Pelzer.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Terry Gilbert

Pelzer – Terry Lee Gilbert, 70, husband of Germaine Geana Murphy Gilbert, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022.

Born in Dansville, NY, he was a son of the late Marion Seymour and Harriet Minerva Tarbell Gilbert.  He retired from Gilbert Garages and was a member of Midway Bible Church.

 Terry was a great storyteller and loved to play pranks on people.  He also loved fishing and shrimping on the coast.

 In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Brandy Lee Gilbert of Tampa, FL; son, Jack Nathaniel Gilbert (Heather) of Pelzer; brother, Fred Gilbert (Suzanne) of La France; sisters, Linda Guerin (Dennis) and Marilyn Gilbert, both of Pelzer; grandchildren, Brooke Nichole Clutts (Mathew) and Dakota Daniel Johnson; great-grandchildren, Isla Layne and Nora Blake Clutts.

 He was predeceased by brothers, James, Ronald, and Gary Gilbert.

   The family will receive friends 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, at Midway Bible Church with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Harriet Memorial Gardens on Gilbert Drive in Pelzer.
