Governor Henry McMaster has appointed C. Reena Thomason to serve as Anderson County Clerk of Court. The position was left vacant following the passing of longtime Clerk of Court and former Mayor of Anderson Richard A. Shirley. Thomason will finish Shirley’s unexpired term.
Thomason is an Anderson native and a longtime employee of the Clerk of Court’s office. Born and raised in Anderson, Thomason attended Westside High School, Tri-County Technical College, and the University of South Carolina. She has been employed by the Clerk of Court’s office since 2005, serving first under The Honorable Cathy Phillips and then under The Honorable Richard A. Shirley. Thomason has served as Chief Deputy Clerk of Court since 2014. She is married with two sons.
