Ronnie Rowe

Ronald “Ronnie” David Rowe of Belton, 59, husband of Angela “Angie” Rowe, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023.

Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late David A. and Donna P. Rowe, and Patricia Bryson. He was a member of Second Chance Church, Anderson.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Magic Rowe, Alicia Russell, and Heather Whitmore; sons, Jeffrey Rowe, Gregory Rowe and Aaron Whitmore; sisters, Monica Rowe Foutz and Terri Hanson; brother, Bobby Estabrook; and fourteen grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Clyde Childs

Clyde Sutton Childs of Pelzer, 1, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his parents, Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at MUSC Medical Center.

Born in Greenville on August 30, 2021, to Charles Robert “Chase” and Brianna Wynn Childs. He was a happy baby, who loved breadsticks, SpongeBob and tractors. Clyde was the apple of his parent’s eyes. He was loved and cherished by everyone that met him.

 In addition to his parents, he is survived by maternal grandparents, Tracy Wynn and Caleb Brown, both of Belton; paternal grandparents, Chuck and Joy Childs of Pelzer; paternal great-grandmother, Brenda Hammonds of Pelzer; maternal great-grandparents, Robbie and Teresa Richard of Greenville.

The funeral was January 17, at 2:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel, with Rev. Randy Smith officiating. Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Emerson Rose Heart Foundation, P.O. Box 935 Clemson, SC 29633.

Betty Guest

Betty Frances Singleton Guest of Belton, 92, wife of the late James Roy Guest, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023.

Born in Williamston, she was a daughter of the late Johnson Talmadge and Bernice Hart Singleton. She retired from Blair Mills and was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, James Michael “Mike” Guest and Timothy Craig “Tim” Guest  both of Belton; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 18, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel, with burial at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Grove Baptist Church Children’s Ministry, 13024 Highway 20, Belton, SC 29627.

SGT William Lockaby

SGT William Carol Lockaby of Piedmont, 81, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Alvin and Mellie James Lockaby.  He retired from Owings Corning and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.  Survivors include son, Brian Adams of Laurens; sister, Lena Terrones of Laurens; four grandchildren.

The family received friends January 17 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

The funeral was Wednesday, January 18 at 11:00 a.m. in the mortuary chapel.

Adoracion Marqueda Jordal

Adoracion Marqueda Jordal died peacefully at home January 3, 2023.

She was born in Liloan Leyte Philippines on January 31, 1945. She was retired from Kemet Electronics.

She is survived by husband Richard, son, James Jordal, daughters, Sherry Whiteley and Evelyn Marqueda and granddaughter Chelsea Marqueda.

She was buried in the Ramsey Creek Preserve.

Fred Capps of Piedmont, 81, husband of Dale Darlene Thomason Capps, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023. Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late James William “J.W.” and Hettie Viola Roper Capps. He retired from BASF in Anderson. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Valerie Burdette of Piedmont and Lindsey Capps of Piedmont; sister, Doris Barber of Piedmont; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. Mike Jordan

James Michael “Mike” Jordan of Anderson, 83, husband of Reggie Jordan, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023.

   He was twice married, first to the late Judy McGrath Jordan.

Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late John William and Mildred Houston Jordan. A graduate of Erskine College, he was inducted into the sports Hall of Fame for basketball and baseball. He retired as the Vice President of Star Fibers and attended NewSpring Church.

 In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Michael Jordan of North Augusta, Juli Booth of Chapin, Ashley Garner and Emily Harmon both of Williamston; sister, Kathy Jordan Hood of Pendleton; brother, Keith Jordan of Williamston; and nine grandchildren.

The family received friends on January 13 at Gray Mortuary.
