West Pelzer to hold special election March 28

The Town of West Pelzer will hold a special election on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 to fill one seat on Town Council. The seat will be for the remainder of a term, open as the result of Councilmember Pat Alexander recently resigning.

Persons planning to vote in the upcoming election must be registered by February 27. To register, contact the Anderson County Board of Voter Registration.

Anyone desiring to be a candidate for the office may file at the West Pelzer Municipal Center, 30 Main Street in West Pelzer. Books will be open for filing January 20 at 12pm and remain open during regular business hours until January 30 at 12pm. The filing fee for the office is $25.

West Pelzer Municipal Center regular business hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-12pm; 1pm-5pm and Friday 8am-12pm.

This is a non-partisan election, and no party affiliation will be placed on the ballot.

The polls will open at 7 am on Election Day and close at 7 pm.

The polling place for the election will be the West Pelzer Fire Department, 101 Main Street West Pelzer.

In the event of a tie vote, a run-off will be held two weeks after the election on Tuesday, April 11.
