The West Pelzer Police Department reported the following incidents:
Feb. 21 – West Pelzer Police Chief Scott Stoler investigated the theft of plastic milk crates from the side of the Dollar General building, 8 Main Street, West Pelzer. A 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe towing a black utility trailer was observed leaving the parking lot with a trailer load of milk crates. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and admitted to taking the crates, stating had had others and he thought he could take them because they were outside, as is the dumpster. The crates were returned. Roger D. Navy, 220 Eastview Rd., Pelzer was placed on trespass notice for Dollar General in connection with the incident.
Feb. 20 – SavWay, 80- Main St., West Pelzer reported a gas drive off in which a white male with a white work truck drove away without paying $85.12 for gas. Officer D. Vickery investigated.
Feb. 19- Officer D. Vickery was dispatched to SavWay, 80 Main St., West Pelzer in reference toa gas drive off. According to reports an unknown individual drove off without paying for gas valued at $20.
Feb. 8 – Lt. C. Rogers investigated a break in at 9 Park Street where Vincent Webb reported someone entered his outbuilding and rummaged through the items inside. Video surveillance showed a white male approximately 20-25 years old wearing a hoodie and shorts removed the trap from the golf cart inside and messed with several other items.
Feb. 7 – Debra D. Rainey, 12 Spring St., West Pelzer was arrested for possession of stolen property after a yellow Dollar General shopping cart was observed in the East side of the roadway across from 12 Spring St. According to reports, the shopping cart was filled with a variety of items. During the investigation, Rainey approached Chief Scott Stoller and identified the items in the cart as hers. She also identified the cart as property of Dollar General and stated she was not the person that stole the cart from Dollar General. Reports state after being handcuffed, Rainey resisted arrest by pulling away and twisting her arms and body in an attempt to walk away. She also resisted being placed in the police vehicle. She was eventually placed in a seat belt and transported to ACDC. The shopping cart was picked up by Dollar General staff.
