Two people arrested in connection with Willingham Road “drive by” shooting – In Arkansas

Two people wanted in connection with a shooting on Willingham Road that left a 14-year-old boy dead have been arrested in Arkansas.
According to reports, Shale Remien, with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, said that two people arrested in Trumann, Arkansas are suspects in the Feb. 23 “drive-by” shooting that killed Elijah Delbert Allen Sergent. According to the Sheriff’s Department, Sergent was inside a home on Willingham Road, Belton and was struck by a bullet fired from outside the home.
Anthony Howard, 19, of Williamston, and Grace Smith, 37, of Piedmont, South Carolina were arrested in Arkansas after the vehicle they were driving was observed by local authorities.
According to reports, Howard has warrants for manslaughter/voluntary manslaughter and Smith has a warrant for discharging firearms into a dwelling. Reports also stated a 12 gauge shotgun was found during the stop.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, Howard and Smith are facing extradition and will both be brought back to Anderson County.
