Williamston Police Officers investigated the following incidents:
Mar. 19 – Officer R. C. Burgess was dispatched to 905 Greenville Dr. in reference to a suspicious vehicle in the rear parking lot of Burger King. According to reports, the driver, identified as Lisa Dawn Glave, 3 Tasha Dr., Pelzer, was slouched over in the drivers side seat of a red Nissan. She was detained for suspicion of possession of illegal narcotics. During a search of the vehicle, two clear smoking pipes and two syringes were found. No arrest was made.
Mar. 19 – Officer S. McLaurin and Officer Cobb were dispatched to 209 River Dr., in reference to an automobile break-in. Reginald Wilson Eller reported a key fob, a green canvas wallet containing approximately $300 in cash and two credit cards taken from his unlocked black 2016 Dodge Challenger while in his driveway.
Mar. 18 – Nathan Wayne Johnson, 30, 19 Parker St., Williamston was issued a summons for simple possession of marijuana after a silver 2006 Honda Pilot was observed on West Main St. with a broken rear windshield. According to reports, his drivers license was suspended, however Johnson stated that he wasn’t aware his license was suspended as he had never had a license. During a search of the vehicle, a small baggy containing 3 grams of a green leafy substance that looked and smelled to be marijuana was found in the dashboard. Johnson was issued a warning for the broken windshield and a citation for driving under suspension and released from the scene. The vehicle was turned over to a licensed driver. The green leafy substance was placed into property and evidence for destruction. J. S. Grinnell investigated.
Mar. 16 – Officer M. Jackson was dispatched to South Academy St. and Williams St. in reference to an abandoned/wrecked vehicle. According to reports, witness stated he saw a couple of Hispanic males exit the vehicle and they stated they were ok. The vehicle, a 2012 Ford Focus, was locked and had no key inside. There was some damage to the front and right passenger side of the vehicle. The license plate returned the address of 103 W. First St. which had been vacated. The vehicle was towed and a hold placed on it.
Mar. 13 – Haley Brett Potter, 29, 35 Patterson Dr., Williamston was arrested for shoplifting after Design Depot, 555 West Main St,. Williamston reported a shoplifting incident. According to reports, a white male wearing blue jeans and a camo coat and a white female with a black hoodie, black shorts and tattoos on her legs came into the store and the female removed a beanie from a mannequin and left the store without paying for the item. The female was confronted by owner Sharon Smith. The female stated she did not steal anything and would show the owner where she put the item on the shelf in the store. When she came back into the store, Smith watched her lay the hat down on the clothing shelf at the front of the store. The beanie was valued at $12. The female, Potter was located on Ridley Street. Due to two prior convictions in 2022, Potter was placed under arrest for shoplifting 3rd offense and transported to ACDC. The male, identified as Joseph Clark, and Potter, were both also placed on trespass notice for Design Depot. Lt. L. W. Mulz, Officer J. M. Cobb and Officer Grate investigated.
Mar. 10 – Officer W. N. Crawford was dispatched to 214 S. Green St. in reference to a break in. According to reports, Keith Langford Ramsey, 500 S. Hamilton St., Williamston reported the back door and window of the basement of the home he is remodeling was open and tools were missing. A Dewalt mortar 749 saw $500, Ryobi table saw $500, 7 electric drills priced at $100 each and random small tools were reported missing. Total value of missing items was $1,700.
Mar. 10 – Douglas Wayne Brown, 55, 438 Lewis Dr., Belton was issued a UTT summons for illegal trash burning after Officer M. Jackson was dispatched to 115 W. 2nd St. According to reports, Brown had burned some of the vinyl siding on the backside of the residence as the result of an illegal trash burn in the city limits.
Mar. 9 – Kelly Elise Beatty, 32, 218 Glenwood St., Williamston was issued a summons for no proof of insurance and driving under suspension after a vehicle she was driving was stopped for speeding 31 mph in a 25 mph zone on West Main Street. Beatty’s license was suspended due to failure to provide insurance. She was issued a warning for speeding. Officer J. Cobb investigated.
Mar. 9 – Officer R. Burgess responded to 145 Cherokee Rd. in reference to a call regarding shots fired. Three 9mm shell casings were located in front of the mailbox and one unspent 9mm Hornady round was found in the driveway of the home. The home was checked to see if there were any possible bullet holes, but none were located. Judge Lollis issued a warrant for domestic violence for Tyrekus Lavanzer Blanding, 29, 108 Roxanne St., Williamston in connection with the incident.
