Charles Mason
Charles Thurman Mason of Piedmont, 65, husband of the late Deborah Ann Dawson “Debbie” Mason, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023.
He was twice married, first to the late Jane Mason.
Born in Clayton, GA, he was the son of Jessie Evelyn Wilson Mason of Williamston and of the late Thurman Chester Mason. He retired from Perrigo Vitamin Company.
He is survived by his children, Kayla and Matthew Mason of the home, Kevin Morrison of Liberty, and Jaime Williams of Honea Path; sister, Beverly Clardy of Williamston.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 29, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel, with burial at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Greenville County Special Olympics, 4806 Old Spartanburg Road, Taylors, SC 29687.

Sonny Lozano
Easley – Roman Ruiz “Sonny” Lozano, Jr., 73, husband of Linda Kay Watson Lee-Lozano, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023.
Born in Fort Benning, GA, he was a son of the late Roman Ruiz Lozano, Sr. and Juanita Kay Lozano Bartelt. He retired from the U.S. Air Force, having served in Vietnam and served in support of Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Desert Calm, spending his last seventeen years of service as a recruiter. He later retired from Home Depot and was also formerly employed with Sears.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by stepsons, James Robert “Bob” Lee of Myrtle Beach and Tommy Eric Lee (Kimberly Andersen Lee) of Simpsonville; stepdaughter, April Lynn Lee Billy (Francis Vincent Billy) of Piedmont; grandchildren, Breanna Nicole Billy (raised in the home), Jessica Barnard-Cason (Chris), and Brandon Thomas Lee (fiancé, Kat Terry); great-grandchildren, Emily, Walker, and Anne Barnard; and several cousins.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary.
A graveside service will be held Monday, May 8, at 3:00 p.m. at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

Charles Joy
Charles Richard “Charlie” Joy of Pelzer, 81, husband of the late Patricia Ann Duncan Joy, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023.
Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late John Clifton Joy and Edith Lucile Watson Joy Bracken. He retired from Charter Communications. Charlie was an avid fisherman and sports fan and he loved to spend time with his family.
He is survived by his “honey bun”, Betty Kay Terry of Greenville; children, Toni Wood of Pendleton, Allison Sullivan of Mauldin, Nolan Joy of Lexington, and Duncan Joy of Pelzer; brothers, Danny Joy of Cross Hill and Mickey Joy of Harbor Island; sister, Kay Gilliam of Pelzer; grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 26, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Barbara Cornelia Bennett Johnson of Pelzer, 84, wife of the late Bennie Johnson, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023.
Born in Pelzer, she was the daughter of the late Doyle Lee and Helen Louise Garrison Bennett. She retired from Kemet. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pelzer.
She is survived by son, Joseph “Joey” Johnson of Pelzer; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Jane Garrison.
A private service will be held.
