Heather Smith

Heather Marie Smith of Columbia, 52, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024.

Born in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late Robert Earl Smith and Ariel Lee McAlister Smith. She was currently employed with the State of SC in Social Services in Columbia, working with law enforcement and teaching forensics.

She is survived by her sisters, Sonja Lee Smith of Piedmont, Cynthia Ann Fincher of Salem, KY, and Melissa Jean Smith of Piedmont.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 28, at 12:00 p.m. at Ramsey Creek Preserve.

Rev. Grady Turner, Sr.

Rev. William Grady Turner, Sr., 75 of Williamston, husband of Joyce Louise Duncan Turner, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late Grady and Beatrice Griffith Turner. He pastored at New Testament Baptist Church in Greenville and was the founder/lead singer of Living Truth Gospel Singers for 41 years. He retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

   In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, William Grady Turner, Jr. of Belton; daughter, Michelle Turner Alewine of Calhoun Falls; brother, Henry Michael “Bobby” Turner of Piedmont; sister, Vicky Inez Hayes of Waterloo; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

   The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, in the mortuary chapel with Rev. Grady Turner, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Terry Seymore

Terry Lee Seymore of Piedmont, 75, widower of Patricia Owen Seymore, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024.

   Born in Elberton, GA, he was a son of the late Arthur Lee and Iva Nell Slay Seymore.  He retired from ECO Waste Services and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include daughter, Melissa Lawson of Simpsonville; son, Terry Christopher Seymore of Piedmont; brothers, Mike Seymore of Powdersville, Ronald Seymore (Jane) of Piedmont, and Gary Seymore of Anderson; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Road, Greenville, SC 29607.

William Mosteller Sr. 

William Christopher Mosteller, Sr., 66, resident of Sweetgum Circle, passed away February 23, 2024 at his residence.

Born on June 24, 1957 in Easley to the late Charles Alexander Sr and Clara Jennings Mosteller. He was a retired Satellite Technician and a member of Princeton Baptist Church.

Surviving are his companion, Jane Pace Mosteller Lawrence of Pelzer; his children, William Christopher Mosteller, Jr., of Anderson, James Alexander Mosteller of Liberty, Leslie Mosteller Fortner of Pelzer, and David Daniel Mosteller of Lexington; his brothers, Johnny Mosteller, and Garland “Buck” Mosteller; his sisters, Georgia Shoulders, and Toni Bates; 19 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. .

Funeral services were conducted Feb. 26  from the Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Jerrie McCue

 Jerrie Belinda Huff McCue of Williamston, 74, wife of Victor Kenneth “Ken” McCue, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024, at her home.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late John D. and Victoria Isabella Jordan Huff. She retired from Spinx and was a member of Williamston Church of God.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter, Victoria C. McCall of Williamston; brother, William D. “Billy” Huff of Piedmont; sister, Catherine Hope Bolt of NC; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with the funeral following at 2:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel. Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
