The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) recently released 450 weed-eating carp to address invasive weeds that have been found in Broadway Lake. The carp were released at Muldrow Park.
The project is a partnership between Anderson County, Friends of Broadway Lake, and SCDNR.
SCDNR presented the County with three options to handle the problem. Broadway Lake residents were surveyed and selected the carp. This option was also used several years ago to address another invasive weed.
Muldrow Park is located at the Broadway Lake Dam near McFall’s Landing.
