Carolyn Tucker
Carolyn Kay Tucker of Williamston, 68, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024, at her home.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Charles Jessie and Edna Virginia Tucker Tucker. Survivors include daughter, Tiffany Tucker of the home; son, William Shane Bishop of Williamston; grandchildren, Kenzley Moton, Kaylie, Brianna, and Braedyn Bishop; twin sister, Sharon Faye Noble of Greenville; additional siblings, Randy Tucker of Gaffney, Steve Tucker of Mauldin, Tim Tucker of Greenville, Betty Ann Tucker and David Tucker, both of Blacksburg.
The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 31, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. in the mortuary chapel. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

Doug Owens
Belton – Douglas Eugene Owens, 66, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024.
Born in Belton, he was the son of Ethel Owens of Williamston and the late Jim Edward Owens. He retired from 3M after 46 years of service. He was a loving son, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by fiancé, Terri Wilson of Piedmont; daughter, Robyn McCoy; grandchildren, Tyler Douglas McCoy and Jayden Oliver McCoy; aunts and uncles, Marie Chastain, Ray and Gerlean Rolfes, Susie Vaughn, and Linda Vaughn, all of Belton; cousins, James Elgin of Belton, Loretta Rollins of Greenville, and Henry and Sandy Vaughn of Belton; and special cousin, Annette Chastain of Belton.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:30 pm Friday, May 31, 2:30 pm at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. The service will follow at 2:30 pm in the mortuary chapel. Burial will be at Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Gary Creswell
Pelzer – Gary “G” Carl Creswell, 67, husband of Linda Ann Hughes Creswell, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Robert Carl Creswell and Shirley Ann Welborn Creswell McAlister. He was employed with Michelin Tire. Gary loved to work on cars, motorcycles and hot rods.
In addition to his wife of 38 years, he is survived by sons, Gary Lamar Creswell (Joy Creswell) of Pelzer and Daniel Lee Creswell (Erin Daly) of Honea Path; daughter, Tinna Marie Ellison of Easley; grandchildren, Auston Colt Creswell, Kassidi Lynn Creswell and Amber Nicole Ellison; great-grandchildren, Zayden Smith, A.J. Smith and Bleu Brazeale.
He was predeceased by brother, Lonnie Daryl Creswell and step-father, James McAlister.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 pm Thursday, May 30, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. A graveside will follow at 3:00 pm at Liberty Memorial Gardens.

Vickie Reed
Vickie Dianne Clardy Reed of Williamston, 66, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Stanley Hall and Della Mae Rogers Clardy. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughters, Kimberly Reed and Kayla Reed, both of Williamston; sisters, Charlotte Merriam of Piedmont and Lynn Johnson of Belton; brothers, Don Clardy of Pelzer and Timothy Wayne Clardy of Craytonville.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am Saturday, June 1, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. The service will follow at 11:00 am in the mortuary chapel.

Mike Garner
Larry Michael “Mike” Garner of Pelzer, 68, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024.
Born in Anderson, he was a son of Mary Oleen Brooks Garner and the late Larry Clyde Garner.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Stacey Morrison of Pelzer, Larry Michael “Sam” Garner, Jr. of Pelzer, and Brandi Michele Hill of Anderson; sisters, Gayle McQuiddy of Williamston and Gloria Callaham of Pelzer; brother, Bryan Garner of Pelzer; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 29, at 4:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel.

James Peterson
James Bennett Peterson of Pelzer, 69, husband of the late Susan Fooshe Peterson, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024.
Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late James Otis Peterson and Shirley Margaret Meeks Palmer. He retired from Hillcrest Hospital and was a member of Washington Baptist Church.
He is survived by sons, James G. Peterson of Pelzer and James K. Brown, II of Pickens; daughters, Susan Marina Brown Lane of Mountville, Shannon Elizabeth Smothers of Greenville, and Heather Leigh Brown of Pickens; brothers, Harry Peterson of Severna Park, MD, Matthew Palmer of Bothell, WA, Alphonso “Al” Palmer of American Samoa, and Ammon Palmer of Anderson; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was May 28, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.
The service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, May 29, in the mortuary chapel. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery West.

Williamston – Jean Rainey Taylor, 89, widow of Therman Douglas Taylor, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024.
Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Lee and Flois Mallie Sargeant Rainey. She was formerly employed with Cushman Plant and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include children, Douglas Taylor, David Taylor, and Tammy Taylor, all of Williamston; sister, Joan Black of Williamston; brother, Jack Rainey (Marie) of Williamston; 7 grandchildren,18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Annette Winn; sisters, Joyce Dawson, Zoie Ruth Webb, and Elizabeth Rainey; and brother, Clyde Mack Rainey.
The family received friends 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 27, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.
