Randall Libby, Homer Neely, Tommie Davis, Mary Sue Compton, Howard L. Davis, Sr., Mike Lollis, Justin Jackson

 

Justin Jackson

Justin Roy Jackson of Williamston, 34, husband of Brenda Elizabeth Lamm Jackson, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024, at his home.

Born in Easley, he was a son of Roy Calvin Jackson and the late Cynthia Lee Center Ray. He was employed with Trinity Metal Buildings.

In addition to his wife and father of Williamston, he is survived by children, Kayden Lee and Natalie Elizabeth Jackson; brother, Chase Jackson of Anderson; sisters, Aubrianna Patterson of Pelzer and Katlyn Jackson of Williamston; paternal grandparents, Glenda Paxton of Williamston and James Jackson of Belton; maternal grandparents, Sammie Lee Center of Iva and Pete Center of Pelzer.

A memorial service was held June 11, in the Chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

Mike Lollis

Truman Michael “Mike” Lollis of Williamston, 74, husband of Phyllis Skelton Lollis, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024.

Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late Truman and Louise Johnson Lollis. He worked for Service Star and retired from the Town of Williamston. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

 In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by sons, Kenny Lollis of Anderson, Michael Lollis of Apex, NC, and Matt Lollis of Anderson; sisters, Gayle Lollis Cox and Libby Lollis Medlock, all of Pelzer; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service was held, June 7 in the Chapel of Gay Mortuary, Pelzer.

Howard L. Davis, Sr.

Howard Lee Davis, Sr. of Belton, 85, widower of Frances Rebecca Davis, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024, at his home.

Born in Chester, he was a son of the late J.C. and Irene Anderson Davis.  He was formerly employed with Campbell’s Soup in Sumter and was a truck driver for Covenant. He also drove for Santee Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels and was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Survivors include children, Margie D. Bradley of Sumter, Michael Wayne Davis of Belton, Howard L. Davis, Jr. of Sumter and Angela Irene Debrom of Sumter; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

 A memorial service was June 9  in the Chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

Mary Sue Compton

The Villages, FL – Mary “Sue” Medlin Compton, wife of the late Thomas Harrell Compton, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024

A Piedmont, native, she was a daughter of the late James McAbee and Eula Mae Rogers Medlin. She was formerly an administrative assistant for the town of Belton.

Survivors include daughter, Lora Ann Compton of The Villages, Florida; and sons, Harrell “Roger” Compton of Huntington Beach, California, and “Carroll” Wilton Compton of Williamston. She was the grandmother of five and great-grandmother of six.

  A visitation will be held Friday, June 21 (her 99th birthday), from 2:00 to 3:00 pm in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 pm. Inurnment will follow at Garden of Memories in Belton.

Tommie Davis

Tommie Mae Culbertson Davis of Williamston, 65, wife of Richard Leon Davis, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024, at her home.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Ida Mae Gentry Culbertson.  She was a homemaker and member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by, daughter, Sharon Denise Davis Gregory of Starr; and son, Richard Joshua Davis of the home; brother, Glenn Culbertson of Anderson; sisters, Grace Culbertson Dixon of Anderson, and Gail Culbertson Allison of Belton; four grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 12, at 1:00 p.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.  Visitation will follow after the service.

Homer Neely

Pelzer – Homer Page Neely, 84, husband of Martha Jean Neely, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024.

Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late Burton Stanley and Ruth Page Neely.  He retired from Wangner Systems, Greenville in industrial maintenance.  He served in the S.C. Army National Guard and attended Beech Springs Church.

Working in his shop was his passion.  He was a skilled welder and machinist, and he created beautiful wooden bowls on his lathe.

   In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Donna Neely Powell (Mark) of Williamston; son, Scott Neely of Aiken; brother, Carl Neely of Pelzer; granddaughters, Dedria Donnahoo (Justin) and Stephanie Strickland (Austin); great-grandchildren, Elijah Strickland and Della Donnahoo; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by daughters, Pamala Lynn Neely and Stephanie Camille Neely; brothers, Lamar, Harlan, Rudolph “Red”, Leon, and Bob Neely.

Visitation was held Tuesday June 11 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.  A graveside service followed at 11:00 at Lickville Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Pelzer.

Randall Libby

Randall Scott Libby of Williamston, 64, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024.

Born in Waycross, GA, he was a son of the late Lee Irby and Jewel Rae Sapp Libby.

He is survived by daughters, Crystal Bradshaw of NC and Nicole Libby of Seneca; son, Robert Libby of Williamston; brothers, Bill Libby (Pat) of FL and Ray Libby (Dorothy) of GA.

There are no services planned at this time.

The family is at their respective homes.
