Voters will go back to the polls next week to decide who will represent Republicans for SC House District 9 seat and US House District 3 seat. A runoff election for both seats will be held Tuesday, June 25.
Former West Pelzer Mayor Blake Sanders and Anderson Attorney James Galyean will face off in the June 25 runoff election for the SC House District 9 seat. House District 9 covers the area on either side of US Highway 29 from Anderson, Hammond area to Williamston, West Pelzer and Pelzer.

Sheri Biggs and Mark Burns will face off in the Republican Primary Runoff race for the U. S. House District 3 seat formerly held by Congressman Jeff Duncan. In the primary election held June 11 in Anderson County, Trump-backed Mark Burns received 8,195 votes while Biggs received 7,628. Burns received a total of 26,965 votes across the District. Biggs received 23,408. They were the two top vote getters in a field that included five other candidates running for the Senate 3 seat.

The recipient of the Aerial Achievement Medal, Sheri has served as medical crew director of five combat missions and three combat support missions while operating in hostile environments in support of Operation FREEDOM’S SENTINEL.
Sheri’s unique educational background includes earning a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Samford University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Carolina Bible College in Christian Ministries and currently seeking a Master’s Degree for Professional Military Education at the Air War College.
A dedicated wife and mother, Sheri is a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Anderson, where she provides counseling. Active in the community, Sheri also volunteers at the Dream Center and the WLS Foundation.
