Charles Mauldin, Vannie Stone, Charlie Lowe

Charlie Lowe

Charles “Charlie” Randall Lowe of Belton, 69, husband of Rena Ledford Lowe, passed away, Thursday, July 11, 2024.

Born in Belton, he was a son of the late Clifton Furman Jordan and Jewell Hawkins Jordan. He retired from Michelin Tire. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Eric Lowe of Honea Path; daughter, Kristin Lowe Poore of Belton; four grandchildren.

Visitation was July 15 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. The funeral service was held in the mortuary chapel with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 E. Calhoun St., Anderson, SC 29621.

Vannie Stone

Vannie Lou Owens Stone, 96 of Piedmont, wife of the late William Stone, passed away Sunday July 14, 2024, at NHC Healthcare Mauldin.

She was twice married, first to the late Eugene Gilstrap.

   Born in Six & Twenty, she was a daughter of the late Grover Henry and Nina Lee Lollis Owens.  She retired from Varet Enterprises and was a member of Trinity Baptist Tabernacle in Piedmont.

   She is survived by daughter, Brenda Smith of Piedmont; and three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held July 16 at Trinity Baptist Tabernacle, Piedmont with the service to follow at 12:00 pm.  Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Charles Mauldin

Williamston – Charles Ellis Mauldin, 84, husband of Dorothy Branyon Mauldin, went to his heavenly home on Monday, July 15, 2024.

   Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Troy and Willie Ruth Creamer Mauldin. He retired from Cushman Mill in Williamston, where he was primarily a loom fixer. He was a member of Whitefield Baptist Church where he met his wife. Charles attended the O.R. Campbell Sunday School Class and enjoyed the monthly senior events hosted by the church. He also participated weekly with the Williamston Community Senior activities.

   Charles was an avid gardener and enjoyed working with tractors and farm equipment. He is known in the community for his local produce. He also enjoyed bush hogging local fields, keeping neighbor’s gardens plowed and grass cut after retirement.

   In addition to his wife of 65 years, he is survived by children, Sandra Edens (Jerry) of Belton, Vickie Creamer (Randy) of Belton, and Randy Mauldin (Cindy) of Anderson; sisters, Linda McCall Medlin (Roy) of Williamston, Nancy Rogers (Gary) of Piedmont, and Dot Dutton (Wade) of Anderson; grandchildren, Jonathan Edens (Lindsey), Marshall and Jessica Creamer, and Leah Mauldin; great-grandchildren, Emery, Emaline, and Asher.

   In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Larry Mauldin and Jones Mauldin; and granddaughter, Rebekah Edens Brady.

      Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, July 18, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

   The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, July 19, at Whitefield Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Wright and Dr. Ron Fousek officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

   Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Whitefield Baptist Church, 207 Mitchell Rd., Belton, SC 29627.

   The family would like to thank everyone for their kind remembrances, food, visits, cards, and messages during this difficult time. A special thanks to Interim Healthcare Hospice for their compassionate care provided to Charles.
