One person was killed Friday afternoon in a two vehicle wreck. It happened near the intersection of Reedy Fork Road and Old Hundred Road. A pickup truck and a tractor trailer were involved. The driver of the pickup died. South Greenville firefighters responded along with Greenville County EMS and state troopers.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2002 Dodge pickup truck stopped northbound at a stop sign on Old Hundred Road, then proceeded to enter the intersection and was hit by a dump truck traveling east on Reedy Fork Road. Both vehicles went off the left side of the road hitting a tree, troopers said.
The Greenville County Coroner’s Office identified the driver of the Dodge pickup truck that was fatally injured as 79-year-old Eddie Alverson.
