Anderson County Election Office is joining forces with the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) to observe National Poll Worker Recruitment Day on August 1.

This effort, aims to address the ongoing shortage of poll workers, promote civic engagement, and ensure the integrity of the upcoming November 2024 election and beyond.
“Election workers are critical to ensuring accessible and accurate elections. We are excited to recognize and participate in National Poll Worker Recruitment Day to help bring awareness to the nationwide poll worker shortage ahead of the election in November and to help inspire civic engagement and volunteerism to encourage people to sign up to serve their community.” (Austin Cooley, Precinct Coordinator)
Typical tasks include setting up polling places, greeting voters, checking voter registrations, issuing ballots, and helping voters understand how to use voting equipment and follow voting procedures.
Poll workers are essential to our voting process, playing a pivotal role in the success of our elections in Anderson County. The more election workers there are the quicker and smoother the process will be for everyone on election day.
Interested individuals are encouraged to come out on August 1st from 10:00AM until 2:00PM and apply to be an election worker at the Anderson County Election Office (301 North Main Street, Anderson Sc 29621) or through the South Carolina Commission website (scvotes.gov) or call 864-260-4035 for inquires. Can also work if aged 16 or 17.
Furthermore, if anyone needs to register or update their information, our office can assist with those processes as well.
