Benjamin “Ben” Frank Signor, James R. “Bubba” Herring, Jr., Charles Nimmons, Bill Debany, Margaret Lindsey, Carolyn Foster

Carolyn Foster

Carolyn Ann Thompson Foster of Piedmont, 80, wife to Billy “Bill” Edward Foster, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024.

Born in Piedmont, she was a daughter of the late Clifton and Minnie Saxton Thompson.  She retired from Anderson School District One after having worked at Wren Middle School, Concrete Primary, and the District Office. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, William Philip Foster of Belton; brothers, James Thompson of Piedmont and Wayne Thompson of Townville; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 29, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

   A celebration of life service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605.

Margaret Lindsey

Margaret Ellen Lindsey of Anderson, 91, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024.

   Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Melvin and Letha McCarter Lindsey. She retired from Wachovia Mortgage Company and attended The Carpenter’s House Church. 

She is survived by her nephew who was like a son, Ben Wilson, Jr. of Anderson and their daughters, Alexis and Kaitlin Wilson, all of the home.

The family will receive friends 9:00 – 9:30 a.m. Friday, August 30, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with the funeral service following at 9:30 a.m. in the mortuary chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville.

Bill Debany

Pelzer – William “Bill” Elias Debany, Jr., 77, husband of Jody Marie LaMarca Debany, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024.

Born in Mt. Vernon, NY, he was a son of the late, William Elias Debany, Sr. and Mary Joan Anechiarico Debany. He was the retired owner of Performance Financial and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus, Belton Gun Club, Saddlebred Horseman’s Association, past treasurer of Alpha Omega, past president of TKE at Long Island University and elected to Big Creek Water Commission.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by sons, William David “Dave” Debany (Manisha Pai)  and Jeffrey Michael Debany (Noemie Lafaurie); daughter, Amanda Marie Debany; brother,  and grandchildren, Stone Lafaurie-Debany and Asher Lafaurie-Debany.

He was predeceased by grandchild, Alistair Lafaurie-Debany.

Services to be announced at a later date.

Charles Nimmons

Charles Edward “Charlie” Nimmons of Williamston, 65, husband of Rebecca “Becky” Dianne Daniels Nimmons, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024, at his home.

Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Patsy Ann Hanvey Nimmons and Herman Marshall Adams. He was formerly employed with Palmetto State Transportation and Joseph Lyons Mill.  He attended Orrville Baptist Church.

   In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by daughters, Natasha Newsome of Williamston and Candace Gronek of Piedmont; son, Avery Gentry of the home; siblings, Ricky Nimmons, Dale Adams, Lisa Adams Aiken, and Bradley Adams, all of Anderson; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

   The family will receive friends 4:30 – 5:45 p.m. Thursday, August 29, at 

Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.

James R. “Bubba” Herring, Jr.

James Rufus “Bubba” Herring Jr., of Pelzer, 73, widower of Vicki Mickle Herring, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024.

Born in Milledgeville, GA, he was a son of the late James Rufus Herring, Sr. and Juanita Walls Herring. He retired from Kloeckner Metals and was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include son, Jon Herring of Easley; daughters, Kayla Herring Sims of Fountain Inn and Jennifer Vinson of Honea Path; sister, Judy Standfast of DeLand, FL; brothers, Danny Herring of Quitman, GA and Timothy Herring of Daytona Beach, FL; and five grandchildren.

The family received friends August 27, at Rehoboth Baptist Chuch with the funeral service following at the church. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Benjamin “Ben” Frank Signor

Benjamin “Ben” Frank Signor of Belton, 73, husband of Marilyn Rose Pack Signor, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

   Born on June 30, 1951, in Mt. Clemens, MI, he was a son of the late Frank Sherman and Eileen Alma Cool Signor. 

He was a member of Siloam Baptist Church in Easley where he served on the safety team and bus ministry. He was the owner of Integrated Security and Communications, LLC.

   In addition to his wife of he is survived by daughters, J. Brette Gray of Hilo, HI and Madalyn McLees of Piedmont; five grandchildren and brothers, James “Jimmy” Signor of Greenville and Kenneth Signor of Key West, FL.

The family received friends August 25 at Siloam Baptist Church and the service followed.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haven of Rest Ministries, 219 W. Whitner St., Anderson, SC 29624.
