Boo in the Park has great turnout and support

The annual Boo in the Park event was held Saturday in Williamston. The community event is co-organized by the Town of Williamston, members, Envision Williamston, Williamston Spring Water Festival Committee and local business and organizations.
Contest winners included:
Newborn-2 – Keenan Thomason, 1 of Belton
Age 3-4 – Brantley Huff; 3 of West Pelzer
Age 5-6 – Violet Strickland, 5 of Pelzer
Age 7-8 – Kamiiya Whitfield, 7 of Anderson
Age 9-10 – Natalie Burkhart, 10 of Williamston
Age 11-12 – Peyton Oliver, 11 of Williamston
Envision Williamston Executive Director Roberta Hamby said, “We passed out hundreds of pounds of candy, 650 Smores kits and 50 bags of Marshmallows.”
The event has been organized by SWF committee member Dianne Chastain Lollis with help from others, for a number of years.
Hamby thanked Lollis for her direction behind the scenes this year.

Town Of Williamston for Use of The Park; Council Lady Tabatha Austin For Doing The Welcome Speech and Handing Out Candy All Night; Mayor Burgess for Kicking Off The Costume Contest; EW Board Members, Gracie Eaton, Hanna Mullikin, Chase Maddox, Bronwyn Barnett, and Elyssa Maddox for Help With Set Up, Working The Event and Breaking Down The Event and Sandra and Channing Burgess.
Also Committee Member Daniel Freeman For Help The Entire Night; Volunteer Tina Terry for Handing Out Candy All Night; Mike Hamby, Gaige Zapata and Kevin Strickland, for “All You Did To Keep The Event Running Smoothly”.
She also thanked Volunteers Shannon Drake, David Rogers, and Sam Barnett for Judging The Costume Contest and “All The Help You Gave”.
Hamby thanked All of The Businesses Who Showed Up and Handed Out Candy, Deals Galore, The Pelzer Mill Hill Outreach/ Williamston Community Outreach Program, Dogwood State Bank, and Palmetto Properties Real Estate, Inc. for Donations of Candy.
Also Eureka Baptist Church for Cotton Candy, Papa Bears Cottage and Mr. Habanero Food Trucks and Williamston Police Department for “Your Support All Night”.
Hamby said organizers are already thinking about the event for next year. “We plan to make it easier for the business to get into the park to set up, easier for business to get the spot that they want and will be adding a contest for businesses for for Best Table Decorations, Judges Choice and People’s Choice.”
