The November 5 general election is less than two weeks away. If you haven’t already registered, the deadline to register to vote has already passed.
The general election includes a number of local and state offices and voters can also choose their preference for President and Vice-President of the Country.
Early Voting is now underway through Nov. 2.
Anderson County will host Early Voting 8:30 am to 6 pm Monday-Saturday
at the following locations:
Anderson County Board of Registration and Elections, 301 N Main Street, Anderson; Powdersville Branch Library, 4 Civic Court, Powdersville; Pendleton Branch Library
650 S Mechanic Street, Pendleton and Watkins Community Center 204 S Main Street, Honea Path.
Williamston voters who early vote may have to ask for a Williamston Election Ballot.
Absentee voting BY MAIL is still being conducted. If you need an Absentee ballot BY MAIL, contact our office 864-260-4035 or visit: www.scvotes.gov.
If you qualify to vote by paper absentee ballot, Oct. 25 is the deadline to request it from the county election office either by phone or in-person. Absentee ballots cannot be requested by email. Once you get the application, complete it and sign it and return it right away. Your absentee ballot will then be sent to you. Follow the enclosed instructions to complete it and send it back.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5. You must vote at your regular precinct on Election Day. Curbside voting will be available at each voting location for those over 65 or with disabilities.
Make sure that you have one of the allowed picture ID’s:
SC Driver’s License or SC DMV issued ID,
Military ID: active duty, retired, contractor or VA Health Care card,
Passport or Passport card,
SC Concealed Weapons Permit, or
SC Picture Voter Registration card.
Also you go to scvotes.gov for election information including viewing a sample ballot. You can print your sample ballot, make your decisions on each race/issue, and take it with you when you go to vote.
In Anderson and Greenville counties, there are several non-partisan races including: Big Creek Watershed – 2 Seats; Broadmouth Creek Watershed – 3 Seats; Brushy Creek Watershed – 2 Seat (Pickens); Three & Twenty – 3 Seats (Pickens); Homeland Park Water District – 2 Seats; Piedmont Public Service District – 2 Seats (Greenville); County Board of Education Districts 2, 7, 8, 9; School District Trustees District 1 Area 2, 3, 6; District 2 Area 2, 5, 6; District 3 Area 2, 3; District 4 Area 1, 3; District 5 Area 1, 3, 4, 7, At-Large and School Board Trustee District 1 (Pickens). There is a State Constitutional Amendment and Anderson County voters will decide if they want to approve a referendum for a one cent County Transportation Tax to improve roads and bridges.
