David Rogers, a lifelong resident of Williamston and recent retiree from the Town is running for the Williamston Town Council Ward 3 seat.
“Many people have asked me why I decided to run for Williamston Town Council,” Rogers said. “After serving the outstanding citizens of Williamston for nearly fifty years as a dedicated employee you create a special bond with the community.”
He added, “When I announced my retirement date several months ago, I had many people call, text, and message me on Facebook asking who were they going to call with their problems and concerns,” Rogers said. “I had already been giving the idea some thought regarding seeking public office. After a lot of thought, discussing it with Pam, and a lot of prayer, my decision became more clear.”
“I have always had a servants heart and I don’t want to let the citizens down. I will be there to listen and represent each and every one of you in our Town. I will be “Your Voice For Your Town”.
In his announcement Rogers stated:
“I would like to introduce myself to the citizens who do not know me. I am David Rogers. I am a lifelong resident of Williamston and I am seeking the Ward 3 Town Council seat.
“I graduated Palmetto High School, Class of 1976. One week out of high school, I was hired by Mayor Marion Middleton Sr. I am forever grateful that he saw something in that “17 year old kid”.”
“I had the pleasure and opportunity to work under four more Mayors before I retired July 31 after 48 years of unprecedented service to the Town and its great residents. All five of the mayors were different but had amazing and creative ideas that materialized and helped build our small town into what it is today, a wonderful community.”
“I am married to Pam Rogers, an educator for Anderson School District One. We have one fur baby, Maggie. Pam and I dated five months, having never met each before. We celebrated our 47th anniversary in July.”
“I would like to continue my commitment to the awesome people of Williamston. That is why I am seeking the Ward 3 town council position. I ask that you, your family, and friends consider voting for me Tuesday, November 5th. It will be a great honor for me to serve the people of Williamston in a different capacity.”
“If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to call or text me at 864.556.4111. You may also email me at davidrogersward3@gmail.com”
