Gaffney, SC – Bobby Thomas Mardis, 87, went home to be with the Lord on September 24, 2024 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born and raised in Pelzer. SC, Widower of Ruth Myers Mardis for 61 years. Bobby was the son of the late James & Marion Mardis. He was a graduate of Palmetto High School and enlisted in the US Navy. Living in Gaffney where he had CPA business. Bob was a member of Redeemer Presbyterian.
Surviving are two sons, Dennis Mardis (Laura) of Johns Island and Perry Mardis (Malagni) of Gaffney; four grandchildren, Rob Mardis, Kate Bell (Travis), Patrick Mardis (Michelle) and Abigail Annas (Alan); three great-grandchildren, one sister, Peggy Thomason of Pelzer and sister-in-law, Sandy Mardis of Williamston, and dear friend Pat Watson,
The family received friends October 4, 2024 at Blakely Funeral Home. A graveside service was held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Frederick Memorial Gardens with Reverend Bill Slattery and Col. Roy Mathis officiating, with full military honors.

Piedmont – Sandra “Sandy” Darlene Chapman Black, 64, wife of Ralph Edward Black, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024.
Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Paul Lee Chapman Sr. and Frances Aretta Glazner Chapman. She was employed with Drive Automotive and a member Trinity Baptist Tabernacle.
In addition to her husband of 38 years, she is survived by children, Robert Young of Pelzer, Heather Smith of Pelzer, Michael Black of Pelzer, Mistie Black of Greenville, and Tonya Bass of Piedmont; sister Aretta Allen of Williamston; brother, Wayne “Jabo” Chapman of Travelers Rest; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by brothers, Paul Chapman, Jackie Chapman, and Louie Chapman.
Visitation will be from 12:45 to 1:45 pm Thursday, November 7, at Trinity Baptist Tabernacle. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the church. Burial will be held at 11:00 am Friday, November 8, at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
