In the Williamston election Tuesday, former longtime town employee David Rogers defeated incumbent councilwoman Tabatha Austin for the Ward 3 seat on Town Council. In unofficial results, Rogers received 587 votes to Austin’s 275.
Mayor Rockey Burgess and Councilman Chris Alexander were running unopposed for their seats.
