Each year Mineral Spring Park and the Williamston Municipal Building are transformed into a magical Christmas presentation that is visited by thousands from local areas as well as many different states.
Local businesses, churches, families and individuals can help decorate for the season with a display in the Christmas Park or a Christmas tree in Deck the Halls, or both.
Applications are now being accepted for both the Christmas Park and Deck the Halls holiday events. Deadline for applications is Monday, Nov. 18.
“People often use this opportunity to honor loved ones, promote their businesses, or showcase their creativity,” a spokesperson said. Spaces are limited.
“These two events have gained very much attention in the past couple of years as Envision Williamston holds a tree lighting, caroling, Christmas Market, and other festivities on the same day as the lighting of the Christmas Park and Deck the Halls. If you have never participated in these things, you will want to do so.”
Applications are available on the Town of Williamston website, at Town Hall or email: dchapman@williamstonsc.us.
Slim trees and LED lighting are highly recommended for Deck the Halls due to limited space and fire prevention safety.
Trees may be assembled now until Friday Nov. 29, between 9 am to 9pm daily and on Saturday, Nov. 30th until 3 pm. Town Hall will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 28.
Doors will reopen for decorating on Friday and Saturday to finalize the trees before the official lighting on Sunday evening, Dec. 1. All Trees must be up and ready to view by 3 pm, Saturday, November 30th.
Extension cords will be installed by the town prior to the opening day of the lighting. Please bring your own cord to use while decorating the tree.
A drop box will be placed in the Town Hall for visitors to vote for their favorite tree. Drop box voting will run through Dec. 26th. Awards for the best park display and trees at Town Hall will be awarded during the January Town Council meeting.
Deck the Halls will share opening night with the Envision Williamston Winter Wonderland Event and the lighting of the Christmas Park at 6 pm on Dec. 1st.
Hours for viewing Deck the Halls trees will be Monday-Friday from 9 am – 9 pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 10 pm.
Deadline to remove trees will be before Saturday, January 18th, 2025
