Williamston Police investigate shoplifting incidents

The Williamston Police Department recently investigated a number of shoplifting incidents at various businesses . Among incidents investigated were the following:
Nov. 11 – Officer J. Grinnell responded to ACE Hardware, 105 N. Hamilton St. in reference to a shoplifting incident. According to reports a black male with star shaped tattoos on his face entered the store and placed a folding pocket knife valued at $16.99 in his pants and walked out of the store with out offering payment. Prior to this incident, on Nov. 6, the same suspect took Stanley cups valued at $35 and $25 from the shelves inisde the store and returned them for cash money without having paid for them first. He received $62.28. The case remains active while warrants are being obtained.
Nov. 6 – ACE Hardware, 105 N. Hamilton St. reported a shoplifting incident in which a black male and white female entered the store and took two Craftsman Wrench sets. Both sets were valued at $14.99 each. According to reports the male suspect picked up both wrench sets and stuffed them in his pants with the female acting as a lookout. Both subjects then passed all points of sale without offering payment. The male was described as mid thirties, approximatly 6’0″ to 6’2″, slender build, bald and had a beard. He was wearing black jeans with a yellow highlighter shirt and safety vest. The female was described as in mid thirties, blonde hair, approximatley 5’5″ to 5’7″ with average build. She was wearing blue jeans and also had a yellow safety vest. They then fled the scene in a silver Ford Fusion. The case remains under investigation.
Nov. 6 – Patrick Brian Baker, 49, 106 S. Hamilton St., Williamston was arrested for public disorderly conduct after being observed sitting on a stone wall on Wilson St. near Greenville Drive. According to reports Baker stated he had been drinking and took an unknown number of prescribed medication pills. He was transported to AnMed and issued a UTT for pubilc disorderly conduct. R. C. Childress investigated.
Nov. 2 – Phillip Eugene Clardy, 53, reported vandalism to church property at 541 West Main St. According to reports, a door was damaged. The building was cleared and nothing was reported missing.
Nov. 2 – Michael Lee Fuller, 29, 199 Mill St. Pelzer reported a stolen license plate while his vehicle was parked at 1 Greenville Dr. The vehicle was parked overnight in the rear of the building due to a flat tire. R. C. Burgess investigated.
Nov. 1 – Officer W. A. Massingale responded to Fast Fuel, 207 W. Main St. in reference to possible narcotics found in the parking lot. The substance was collected and tested positive for methamphetamine and Heroin.
Nov. 5 – Officer M. J. Massa responded to O’Reilly’s Auto Parts, 402 East Main St., where Elias Balatazar Francisco reported a white Ford parked next to him hit his 2016 Honda Odyssey Minivan on the passenger side and then left the scene. Damage was estimated at $1200. A witness provided a photo of the white Ford.
Oct. 21 – ACE Hardware, 105 N. Hamilton St. reported a shoplifting incident in which a white male and white female removed an ACE Pro branded head torch valued at $64.19 from the package and then handed it to a white female who placed it in her purse. The male then put the package back together and hung it back on the peg, then placed an unopened package of the same item in front of if. The two then left the store in a black Ford Taurus. The male was wearing a black hat and white shirt with khaki color shorts. M. J. Massa investigated.
Oct. 22 – Chad Philip Boyd, 38, 137 Crown Ct., Williamston was arrested for shoplifting at the Dollar General, 526 West Main St. According to reports, Officer Brito responded to the Dollar General where he observed a white male get onto a bicycle and pedal away. Upon investigating, the manager reported a white male, short beard, blue t-shirt, khaki shorts and white hat placed a beverage inside the waist band of his shorts and left the store on a bicycle. The suspect was observed on West Main St. and was told to stop but maneuvered away from the officer. A blue light traffic stop was initiated however the suspect continued east on West Main St. to the Valvoline oil change businesses where he stopped pedaling. A can of Twisted Tea was found in a wire basket on the bicycle. Boyd was placed under arrest for petite larceny less than $2,000/shoplifting and transported to ACDC.
Oct. 25 – Adreann Maxx Attaway, 34, 615 Easley Hwy. reported several pills missing from a prescription bottle of medication. According to report, she was not sure where the pills were taken.
Oct. 28 – Brandon Neil Duvall, 38, 15 Smith St., Pelzer was arrested for driving under suspension (third) after he was observed driving a 2006 Volkswagen Passat on E. Carolina St. Duvall was issued a citation and transported to ACDC.
Oct. 5 – Justin Cade Bentley, 30 , 126 w. First St,. reported keys taken from his vehicle by Shianne Danielle Palmer, who came by a short time later and threw the keys out. Reports state that Bentley did not wish to press charges. However, Bentley was placed on trespass notice from 19 Parker Street by Palmer’s mother and Palmer was placed on trespass notice for 126 W First St.
Oct. 19 – Emory Shane Salter, 50, 3545 Erwin Mill Rd, Honea Path was issued a traffic citation for following too closely after the motorcycle he was driving ran into the back of another motorcycle driven by Maxie Eugene Alewine. The collision happened on Anderson Drive at Mauldin St.
