The Anderson County Coroner’s office is investigating the death of a Starr man after a vehicle fell on him. The incident happend around 4:47 pm SAturday in Starr.
According to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore, the victim has been identified as Shawn Vincent Petty, 50, of Starr.
The investigation indicates the victim was working on a vehicle at his residence and was under the vehicle with the vehicle being supported on a jack.
Shore said it appears the jack failed and trapped Petty under the vehicle.
According to reports, The Petty was removed from under the vehicle by friends and family prior to arrival of first responders. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is on-going by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner.
Anderson County Fire Department, Anderson County EMS, Medshore Ambulance Service and the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 911 call.
