During their meeting Tuesday, Pelzer Town Council approved an ordinance to adopt Rules of Order for Council meetings and approved 11 different bids totaling $30,900 for tree work and brush clearing.
Pelzer Town Clerk Cheryl Bates reported there were 33 traffic stops, 67 contacts, 14 calls for service and no arrests during December.
Attorney James Logan was on the agenda, however his presentation was held during an executive session later in the meeting.
Council approved first reading on an ordinance addressing rules of order for Council meetings. Councilmember Donna Ide questioned how meeting agendas would be set as specified in the ordinance.
Mayor Will Ragland responded, “the current agenda works pretty well”. He said future mayors may like to choose how the agenda is set and the layout for it.
Council approved the ordinance as presented.
Councilman Mike Matthews was elected Mayor Pro Tempore.
Eleven different bids were awarded to the lowest bidder for tree work and brush clearing projects in Pelzer.
