Dorothy Davis
Williamston – Dorothy Ellen Roberts Davis, 90, widow of William Henry Davis, Jr., passed away Monday, January 27, 2025.
Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Paige and Ruby Pauline Bryant Roberts. She retired from Big Creek Baptist Church where she served as church secretary and was a member there.
Dorothy enjoyed gardening, word games, cooking big meals for her family, and reading.
Survivors include sons, Dan Davis (Barb), Gregg Davis (Caroline), and Joe Davis (Lisa); grandchildren, Matt Davis (Mandy), Jennifer Leatherman (Erin), Sydney, Alyssa, Shanna, and Eli Davis; and great-grandchildren, Penelope and Raphael Davis.
She was predeceased by sister, Clara Sue Cothran and brothers, Joe and Marion Roberts.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 1, from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with the funeral service following in the mortuary chapel. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

Steve Giles
Williamston, SC – Steven Earl Giles, 78, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, at his home.
He was the son of the late Earl Dendy Giles and Martha Lee McCall Giles Pilgrim. Steve retired from Michelin with 31 years of service. He was an avid fisherman. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Wanda Martin Giles; son, Greg Giles (Tracy); granddaughter, Kendall Giles; sister, Rebecca Hall (Robert); and a stepbrother, David Pilgrim (Rae).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Leroy Pilgrim.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, at New Hope Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Richard Burton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the service.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff of Gentiva Hospice.

Scott Anthony Lowe
Scott Anthony “Tony” Lowe, 57, beloved son of the late James Lowe, Sr. and Louise Lowe went to his Heavenly Home following complications of pneumonia after weeks of hospitalization. The family is most appreciative of the exceptional doctors, nurses, and friends in the community.
Born in Anderson Memorial Hospital on December 19, 1967, Tony lived in Belton and attended Belton schools prior to moving to Lexington and Columbia, SC.
Tony is survived by his brother, William (Gloria); nephew, Jae Lowe (Margaret); niece, Tara Brice (Joseph); great-nieces Elizabeth Brice, Caroline Brice, and Louise Lowe; and great- nephew, David Lowe.
Tony loved his family and friends; he enjoyed attending Belton First Baptist Church, beach trips, lake trips, summer camping, and a weekly bowling league. Tony was gifted with the ability to recall birthdates of friends and relatives.
On Friday, January 24, 2025, a private funeral was held in remembrance of Tony beginning with visitation for the Extended Lowe Family Members in the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home from 1:15-1:45 p.m. and followed by the service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dale Lynch officiating. Burial followed in the Garden of Memories.
The family is at the home of William and Gloria Lowe. Cox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mickey Bowen
Claude Mitchell “Mickey” Bowen of Williamston, 80, husband of Peggy Malinda “Linda” Bowen, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at his home.
Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Claude and Iris Culbertson Bowen. He retired from Duke Energy and was a member of Piedmont Church of God of Prophecy.
In addition to his wife he is survived by daughter, Melinda Bowen Brown; two granddaughters; brother, Ernie Bowen; special niece raised in the home, Gwen Hotchkiss; goddaughter, Susan Haney; and numerous special nieces and nephews.
The family received friends January 25 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with the funeral service following in the mortuary chapel. Burial was at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Joyce “Nana” Elaine Owens Saylers of Pelzer, 79, widow of William Sanford Saylers, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025 at her home.
Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late George Efford Owens and Jessie Fletcher Owens Jacks. She retired from Michelin and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons, Michael Saylers of Pelzer and Keith Saylers of Belton; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 30, at 3:00 p.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
