Powdersville Water Board Chairman Phil Landreth recently announced that Murray Dodd will be the new Executive Director for Powdersville Water.

“After an extensive search process, the Powdersville Water Board of Directors is pleased to announce Murray Dodd as its new Executive Director effective March 17,” Landreth said.

According to Landreth, Dodd is a seasoned utility executive and professional engineer with over 30 years of leadership experience in water resource management, engineering, and operations. He has a strong track record of driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and organizational transformation in both public utilities and private sector firms.

As an Associate and Senior Client Service Leader at CDM Smith, Murray successfully established a new office in Greenville, SC, and expanded the firm’s client portfolio. Prior to that, he served as Chief Operations Officer for Clearwater Solutions and South Carolina Engineering Manager for Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood, where he implemented strategic planning initiatives and optimized operational efficiencies. His extensive tenure at Greenville Water included roles as Chief Operations Officer and Director of Engineering, where he spearheaded cost-saving infrastructure projects, implemented preventative maintenance programs, and improved workforce development.

Murray holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Clemson University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and has served in leadership roles within industry organizations, including SC AWWA and SC Water Reuse.
Landreth said Murray “is an industry advocate, he has presented to government councils, served on advisory boards, and contributed to infrastructure planning at local and state levels.”

“Above all,” Landreth said, “Murray is a proud father of four—Alex, Ben, Caleb, and Joy and a girlfriend Cameron.”
