Anderson County Sheriff’s Detectives have made an arrest in connection to the armed robbery that happened at the Dollar General on Highway 252, Belton last Wednesday (Feb. 19th).
Thomas “Britt” Alewine, 51, of Williamston has been charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime and Attempted Murder. He is currently booked at the Anderson County Detention Center.
“We are proud of our detectives, deputies and forensic investigators for their exceptional teamwork,” said ACSO Public Information Officer Carrie Miller. “Together, they demonstrated the true power of unity in solving a case. Additionally, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the public for their assistance in sharing the photo of the suspect. Because of this, Alewine was quickly identified after we shared the image with both social media and the news.”
