More than 25 years ago the Piedmont Bonnes Amies Club and the Piedmont Business Association had a vision to bring art and history together to the Village of Piedmont. The idea of a mural was born. Cece Rogers did the research for the history to be depicted in the mural and Dave Jones was the artist who brought the vision to reality. Overtime the mural has faded.
The Piedmont Village Christmas Lights Committee (PVCL), saw the need to refurbish the magnificent artwork and developed a plan. The mural is to be refurbished this summer by Larry Clark, Jr. PVCL is raising money for the paint and supplies. The labor and equipment are being donated.
The Saluda River Grill (SRG), is hosting a Community Night Fundraiser on Tuesday, March 11, from 4 pm until 9pm. Ten percent of all sales, dine in or takeout, will be used to refurbish the historic mural.
The Tuesday Specials are an 8oz prime rib dinner with choice of side, just $21.99, and for the burger lovers, SRG will be serving up their cheeseburger with fries for only $9.99. Also all regular menu items will be available.
