West Pelzer firefighters work to extinguish a woods fire off Capers Street Friday afternoon. Several dead trees that were hollow were burning inside and out along with brush. Firefighters had to cut some of the trees down in order to fully extinguish them. The fire was among the bank of the Saluda River and made it treacherous for firefighters. (Photo by David Rogers)
