The Anderson County Office of the Coroner and the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division are investigating the death of a 7 year old in a drowning incident that happened Mar. 17 at a family pool on Centerview Road.
According to Greg Shore, Anderson County Coroner, his office is investigating the death of a child who died Mar. 27, over a week after being found in the family’s pool.
According to reports, Anderson County Dispatch received a call on Monday, March 17th for a drowning on Centerville Road. Responders arrived on scene to find bystanders rendering aid to the patient. Emergency personnel continued medical care, and the patient was flown to Prisma Health in Greenville where he succumbed to his injuries on March 27th.
Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Anderson County EMS, MedShore Ambulance Service, and LifeFlight responded to the scene.
Shore identified the victim as Wyatt Daniel Maw, 7, of Anderson.
An autopsy was scheduled to assist in the investigation and the cause and manner of death are pending at this time.
The investigation is ongoing, officials said.
