A 60 year old Williamston woman was fatally injured in a crash Tuesday afternoon involving a sedan and city bus on Michelin Boulevard.
According to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore, the driver of the car, Kellie Cason Griffin, 60, of Williamston, was killed in the crash.
The Coroner’s office said preliminary investigation shows that the vehicle was traveling on Michelin Boulevard when it crossed the centerline and struck the Electric City Transit Bus head on.
There were 14 total patients involved in the incident, one deceased, two were flown to Prisma Greenville, eight were ground transported to AnMed and three refused treatment on scene.
The investigation is ongoing by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
“We would like to recognize the swift action and teamwork from all responding agencies,” Shore said.
Responding agencies included Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Anderson City Police Department, Anderson County Fire Department, Centerville Fire Department, Anderson County EMS, Medshore Ambulance Service, Anderson County Dispatch, Anderson County Emergency Management, South Carolina Highway Patrol, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT Team.
