Heat Wave: The Music of Motown opens Friday night at the Historic Pelzer Auditorium. Straight out of Hitsville, USA, this original concert production features some of the best popular music ever recorded by groups that captured the “Sound of Young America” including The Temptations, The Supremes, the Four Tops, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, and The Jackson 5. Directed and choreographed by Khristin Stephens with musical direction by Velita Jones, Heat Wave features singers Beverly Clowney, Zurik Long, D’Andre Hicks, Brian Reeder, Aviyana Suber, Cheryl Taylor, and Jeressa Whitner backed by a live, 8-piece band led by Greg Day. Heat Wave runs for 11 performances April 18 – May 4.
