Zelma Elizabeth Wilson Weston
Piedmont – Zelma Elizabeth Wilson Weston, 101, wife of the late James Edward Weston, Sr., went to Heaven Friday, April 25, 2025.
Born in Pendleton, she was a daughter of the late Claude Young and Bessie Yates Wilson. A graduate of White Plains High School, she retired from the J.P. Stevens Plant in Piedmont and was a member of Set Free Church-Powdersville.
Zelma and her husband Pastored House of Prayer in Durham, NC. She was the middle child of eleven children, and her family was her Life.
She is survived by her son, James E. Weston, Jr., (Jean) and daughter, Janet Pack (John); brother, Rev. Clay Wilson; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and one on the way.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Tony Pack; two great-granddaughters; and her siblings, Julian Wilson, Clara Lollis, Beatrice Spence, Claude Wilson, Jr., Marvin Wilson, Zelphia Cartee, Roy Wilson, and Lillie Bridges.
Visitation was Tuesday, April 29, from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. at Gray Mortuary Pelzer with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel. Burial was at Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery, Piedmont.

Abby Rose Barrett
Abby Rose Barrett of Anderson, 16, died on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
She was born on April 1, 2009 in Anderson.
A student at Midway Elementary School in Anderson School District Five, Abby had been on medical homebound instruction for the past five years. She previously attended The Champions Center for Special Children (formerly the Developmental Center for Exceptional Children) in Anderson where she was embraced by a loving and supportive community. As a previous media ambassador for the center, Abby proudly shared her light with the world, proving that even the smallest presence can make the biggest impact.
She is survived by her mother, Denise Anderson Barrett of Anderson; her father and step-mother, Doug and Trina Barrett of Irmo; her sisters, Emily and Chloe Barrett of Greenville; half-sister, Katie Barrett of Maine; and grandmother, Sandra Anderson of Piedmont.
Visitation was April 26 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. The funeral service was held Sunday, April 27 in the mortuary chapel. Burial was at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Donald Bunton
Williamston – Donald “Donnie” Luther Bunton, 90, husband of Mary Ann Duncan Bunton, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025 at his house.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Herman Bennett Bunton and Genevieve Ellenburg Bunton. Donnie was a graduate of Pelzer High School and Clemson University where he played football and served in the Clemson ROTC. He was a member of Clemson’s First ACC Championship team that played in 1957 in the Orange Bowl. Donnie was the owner and retired operator of Bunton Exterminating which he started in 1981. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where he served as chairman of deacons, treasurer, chairman of building and grounds, Sunday School director, benevolence director, member of the pastor search committee, and assisted in writing the church’s constitution and by-laws.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Randy Dale Bunton (Susan) and Beverly Denise “Dee” Bunton, all of Williamston, Gregory Brian Bunton (Teresa) of Anderson, and daughter, Kelly Bunton Cooley of Williamston; brothers, Herman Ray Bunton (MaryAnne) of Williamston and Ted Bennett Bunton (Cynthia) of Pelzer; grandchildren, Jason Wyatt (Chay), Jennifer Scott (Steven), Jaime Crawford (Chad), Lindsey Angle (Russell), Heather Back (Josh), Heather Tran (Matthew), Brittany Smith (Justin), Jessica Hudson (Kiki), Clay Bunton (Morgan), and Luke Bunton (Taylor); 34 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by sister, Jo Ann Bunton Davenport.
The family will receive friends 1:00-2:45 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Williamston with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m.. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson. The family encourages guests to dress in Clemson attire.
