Get ready for a day of swashbuckling fun as The Lost City Regatta takes to the waters of Lake Hartwell on Saturday, June 7, from 11 AM to 5 PM at The Shores of Asbury. This exciting, family-friendly event is free and promises a day full of adventure, community spirit, and creative challenges.
Originally scheduled for earlier this year, the Lost City Regatta was rescheduled due to weather, but the fun is back and bigger than ever! This unique celebration features a cardboard boat race where participants can showcase their creativity and teamwork by building and racing their very own boats. Competing teams will vie for the coveted title of Regatta Champion, as well as bragging rights and fabulous prizes. It’s a race like no other, combining craftsmanship, friendly competition, and community pride.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. Attendees can enjoy:
Live Music from the Time Pirates, Pirate Costume Contest with prizes for the best dressed swashbuckler, Family Fun Zone with interactive experiences along the water’s edge, Delicious food from El Arriero at the Shores, offering both Hispanic and American dishes perfect for a lakeside feast, and Prizes and Giveaways throughout the event.
“This isn’t just a race; it’s a community celebration,” said Gary Cooper, Director of Marketing and Events for VHVA. “We’re excited to bring the community together to support our local veterans while having a blast with family and friends. It’s a day you won’t want to miss!”
Admission is free, and everyone is invited to bring their family, friends, and pirate spirit to the shores of Lake Hartwell for an unforgettable day of fun, competition, and community camaraderie.
