A community planning meeting for Anderson County Council District 7 will be held at 6:30 pm this Thursday, June 19 at Cedar Grove Elementary School Cafeteria.
The combination meeting will include information and discussion about proposed expansion of the Big Creek Landfill and a proposed solar farm to be located on Rector Road, Browning Road and Tony Creek Road, Belton.
It will also include discussion on changes that have occurred in Anderson County from 2016 to present, how the zoning process works.
Anderson County is in the process of updating their ten year Comprehensive Plan which will be finalized in 2026. Information to be presented by County officials and others will include Land Use, a topic of interest that is currently getting a lot of attention, especially in Council Districts 7.
Also Population, Natural Resources, Transportation, Housing, Resilience, Economic Development, Priority Investment, Community Services and Facilities related to the Comprehensive Plan update.
The information and discussion about the proposed Landfill expansion and Solar Farm are for public information and is not a public hearing. A public hearing will be scheduled and conducted by the Planning Commission at a later date.
All citizens in County Council District 7 are invited to attend this combination informational meeting on June 19. Cedar Grove Elementary School is located at 107 Melvin Lane, Williamston.
