One person has died following a single vehicle wreck Wednesday morning. It happened on Highway 81 north near Bowen Road at around 8:30 am. Hopewell firefighters, Medshore, state troopers, deputies, and QRV’s responded. A vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree in front of a home. Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore identified the victim as Dexter Lamont Scott, Jr. 30, of Anderson. According to reports, when responders arrived on scene, Scott was unresponsive. He was treated at the scene and transported to AnMed where he succumbed to his injuries at 9:07 am. The Anderson County Office of the Coroner and SC Highway Patrol are investigating.
