The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has charged Lorraine Ashley Howard, 43, of Belton, with Bribery/Accepting Money to Conceal an Offense Involving a Misdemeanor.
According to the arrest warrant, Howard committed the crime of taking money or reward to compound or conceal an offense by requesting payment from a defendant in exchange for seeking a case against the defendant be dismissed.
The 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office requested the SLED investigation and charges were filed June 9.
Howard was booked into the Greenville County Detention Center. The case will be prosecuted by the 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
