Kay Mattison
Kay Cothran Mattison of Belton, 77, wife of Fred W. Mattison, Jr., passed away Monday, June 23, 2025.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Cary Lee and Margaret Othella Woods Cothran. She served as a dental assistant for over 30 years and cared for her mother following her retirement. She lived out her Christian faith.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter, Libba Kay Mattison (Diana); two grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 26, 10:00 to 11:00 am at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with the funeral service following at 11:00 am in the mortuary chapel. Burial will be at Daventon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Edgar Burgess
Edgar Reed Burgess of Williamston, 88, husband of 40 years to Gwendolyn Cooley Burgess, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025.
Born in Williamston, he was a son of the late William Clifton and Janie Ricketts Burgess. He retired from Mt. Vernon and was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church. He was also a United States Army veteran of the Korean war.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Vinson “Sonny” Lyle of Williamston, Wendell Burgess of Anderson, and Stacy Burgess of Williamston; daughter, Tonya Smith of Williamston; sister, Noreen Rowe; 11 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
If anyone would liked to visit the family, they will be at the home.

Jean Butterfield
Emily Jean Kelly Butterfield of Williamston, 84, wife of the late James F. Butterfield, Sr., passed away Friday, June 20, 2025.
Born in Pickens, she was a daughter of the late Millard Lewis and Gertrude Mandilee Darnell Kelly. She was formerly employed at Wal-mart.
She is survived by son, James F. Butterfield; sisters, Frances Elizabeth “Lib” Rogers and Linda Faye Raven; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 25, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Gray Mortuary with the funeral service following at 11:00 AM in the mortuary chapel with Chaplain Pete Kelly Bartodej officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

Stephen “Steve” Harvey Smith of Williamstin, 73, husband of Regina Smith, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
Born in Greensboro, NC, he was a son of the late Harvey Carlson and Margaret Louise Needham Smith. He retired from VF Jeanswear and was a member of Whitefield Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Stacy Smith; son, Brian Smith; four grandchildren; brothers, Roger Smith and Gary Smith.
The family will receive friends from 1:45 – 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25 at Whitefield Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Adamene Robinson
Adamene Angela Bodanski Robinson of Anderson, 84, widow of James Joseph Robinson, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025.
Born in Middlesex, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin A. and Angela Hryz Bodanski. She retired from Telcordia Technologies.
Survivors include sons, Jeffrey Robinson, Gregg Robinson, and Scott Robinson; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 28 at 11:00 am in the chapel at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. A graveside service will be held at New Cemetery in Somerville, NJ at a later date.

Williamston — Joyce Ann Smith Ellenburg, 89, wife of the late Exton Earl “Pud” Ellenburg, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025.
Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Roy Smith and Hazel Glasby Smith Burrell. She was a seamstress for decades and loved to garden, can and cook for her family from her garden. She also loved to use her coupons/rebates and was a cat rescuer for 30 years. Joyce was a longtime Christian and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughters, Lynn Shepherd and Angie Corey (Harry); sons, Tony Ellenburg (Jeanette) and Dennis Ellenburg; grandchildren, Brooke Hale (Troy), Blair Shepherd, Avery Davis (Ryan), AJ Ellenburg (Kelsey), Brianna Clamp (Andrew), Jason Corey (Holly Stiles), Sarah Corey, and Jacob Corey; 11 great-grandchildren; and brother, Bill Smith.
She was predeceased by brothers, Jack Smith and Bobby Joe Burrell.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 27, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

Sonja Lee Hess Miller of West Pelzer, 85, wife of Phillip Eugene Miller, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025.
Born in Springfield, OH, she was a daughter of the late William and Margie Hess.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Todd Miller; brother, Doug Hess; and two grandchildren.
