WPD Back to School Event a community effort
Williamston Police Chief Kevin Marsee said The Williamston Police Department’s Back to School Event is a “True Community Effort.”
Each year, the Williamston Police Department partners with Envision Williamston, local businesses, and a generous community to provide essential school supplies to children in need.
“While the event is called the Williamston Police Department Back to School Event, the reality is far more collaborative,” Chief Marsee said. “It’s a shining example of teamwork and compassion, with countless hearts coming together to support the next generation.”
“This impactful event would not be possible without the unwavering support of Mayor Burgess and the Williamston Town Council, who not only endorse the event but also provide the vital facilities that make it possible.”
Chief Marsee said “This year’s event was bigger and better than ever, made possible through the dedicated time, donations, and love from our volunteers and sponsors.”
Marsee thanked the following for supporting the event: Duke Energy; Anderson School District One; Caroline Community Center; Williamston Action Community Club; Unity Mortuary; Wicked Licks Ice Cream; Cristina Ortiz – State Farm; Salon 505 – Felicity Webb; WhataBurger of Anderson; The Pink Door Boutique; Williamston Community Outreach; Palmetto Properties Real Estate, Inc.
Also The Groom Room; H&R Block; Karl’s Barber Shop; Devann Smith – Realtor; Rooted – A Southern Salon; DJ EZ and It’s For The Girls.
“Thanks to this incredible group of partners and volunteers, we were able to continue serving many local families and children, easing the burden of back-to-school shopping by providing much-needed supplies,” Chief Marsee said. “Beyond meeting practical needs, our volunteers also created a fun-filled day of activities and treats, making the event an exciting and memorable experience for all who attended. Together, we are investing in the future of our community, one backpack at a time. “
