Beverly Gillespie
Beverly Rae Bryan Gillespie of Piedmont, 75, widow of Curtis “Butch” Gillespie, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
Born in Davenport, IA, she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Betty Cogley Bryan. She retired from Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital and was a member of The Carpenter’s House Church in Powdersville.
Survivors include sons, Bryan Carroll and Brad Carroll; sister, Diane Brandt; and five grandchildren, one great-grandson.
The family will received friends August 11 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with the funeral service following in the mortuary chapel. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery in Piedmont.

Themistoklis Papadopoulos
Themistoklis Papadopoulos of Williamston, 79, husband of Mary Suzanne Himel Papadopoulos, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at his home.
Born in Greece, he was a son of the late Michael and Anastasia Papadopoulos. He was the owner of Checkered Flag Motors in Williamston.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Michael Alexander Papadopoulos of Simpsonville, Lucas Anthony Papadopoulos of Pelzer, and Christopher Lee Papadopoulos; sisters, Stefania Papadopoulos and Andonia Simoglou of Greece; brother, Michael Papadopoulos of Greece; five grandchildren
A graveside service was held Saturday, August 9, at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Williamston.

Rosemarie Shackelford of Pelzer, 68, wife of to Melvin Randolph “Randy” Shackelford, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
Born in Morocco, she was a daughter of the late Asuncion Revideigo Orta Agosti. She retired from BB &T Financial Services and was a member of Beech Springs Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter, Christina Dodd of Simpsonville; son, Jayson Shackelford of West Pelzer; father, William B. Agosti of Puyallup, WA; brothers, Tony Rogers of OR and Buck Rogers of Tacoma, WA; sister, Diana Bassi of Spanaway, WA; nine grandchildren.
The family received friends August 9 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.
The funeral service was August 11 at Beech Springs Church with burial following at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Todd Currens
Christopher Todd Currens of Williamston, 54, husband of Tonya Beckwith Currens, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025.
Born in Harrodsburg, KY, he was a son of Lee Hughes Currens, Sr. and Shirley Ann Cox Currens. He was a retired deputy with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and attended Guthrie Grove Church of God of Abrahamic Faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Jonathan Todd “J.T.” Currens; Amanda Thomas; brothers, Lennie Currens, Lee “Penny” Currens, Jr., and Kevin Currens; three grandchildren.
The family received friends August 8 at Guthrie Grove Church of God of Abrahamic Faith with the funeral service following at the church. Burial was at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Mark Steven Hopper of Pelzer, 68, husband of Paula Hopper, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025.
He was the son of the late Billy and Alma Burgess Hopper.

William Robert Autrey of West Pelzer, 82 passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025.
Born in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Edward and Viola Williams Autrey.
He was a member of West Pelzer Baptist Church. He served as an assistant chief at West Pelzer Fire Dept. He retired from Cryovac.
He is survived by niece, Saundra Tate and nephew, Michael Alverson.
A visitation was held August 12 at West Pelzer Baptist Church. The funeral service followed. Burial was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
