During their meeting Tuesday (Aug. 12), West Pelzer Town Council approved a resolution authorizing the West Pelzer Police Department to enter into a Mutual Aid agreement with the Town of Williamston Police Department.
The resolution states the Town of West Pelzer and the Town of Williamston desire to enter into a mutual aid agreement to provide for cooperation, support, and assistance between the respective police departments when needed. The agreement will also enhance the ability of law enforcement to respond to emergencies, special events and critical incidents.
In her administrative report, Town Clerk Paula Payton said the Duke Energy Agreement regarding updated outlets and placement of holiday lighting has been reviewed by the town attorney, signed and returned to Duke Energy.
She said Duke Energy will schedule a time soon to meet with Town staff to designated locations of new/updated outlets. Payton said the quotes have been requested for ten new decorations and the purchase of the additional lights are included in the current budget. The decorations will be ordered and the Town should receive them in time for the holiday season, she said. Plans are for the holiday decorations to be installed on or before Thanksgiving week.
